Yep I did this too after my wedding debt, I didn't have as much as you to pay off but I would have done it this way too as I didn't want to be locked into a personal loan. I went with citi bank 2.9% for 6 months and paid paid paid until they were gone, I had two separate credit cards one in my name and one in my husband so I had two separate roll overs to Citibank and paid them both off in the time.

Have a look around to see who has the best deal and best amount of time to pay off and if you run out of time roll to another bank. It's really easy to do as the bank does all the work in transferring it over.

    Good luck!!!

If it's 13k and you've got bad history, the swapping of balances may be tricky.

tbh I'd start with a phone call to the financial hardship team of your institution. They have the authority to lower the interest rates, suspend interest/repayments etc.

paint the worst painting of your current situation, let them know you'd like to stay with them, but you've been approved for 15% and plan to cancel the credit card in lieu of "insert any low interest card on the market at the moment".

they may be able to help you without having to go through the stress of changing everything.
