Question URGENT HELP : Puppies and onion

I gave my 5 month old pup (roughly weighing 10kg's) 3 slices of left over pizza which has onion on it. DH told me that onion could make him extremely unwell or cause death I didn't know this. Can someone please tell me if this is true or not ?

Will Levi be okay ? Someone please!!

    The kiddies = Dion (8), Calista (5)

Sorry hun, DH has just said this is true.

It's not fatal, but can make them really sick.... Apparently he'll poop or puke and it will work it's way out in it's own time. He should be fine though

If it is just onion on the pizza don't fret too much as they usually don't put much onion on them anyway

Just give your pup a big drink of water and all will be fine If you get concerned is there a 24 hour vet in your area that you could call?

When I said it is just onion from a pizza I meant it's not like you gave your pup a whole onion to eat (that could cause probs, not the amount on pizza)

Yeah onion isnt good and just so you know too, you should never give a dog potato either. I know you havent said you did this but the potassium in the potatoes poisons their blood stream and prolonged exposure can and usually does kill them.
Next time your at the vet, ask them for a list of dangerous foods and you'll know what your puppy can and cant hve.
Oh, and i think you'd still get to keep that licence-god, most of us have and will do worse than that.
Puppies are worse than babies- i swear.

Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression Dr Haim Ginott.

Just so you know you shouldn't give your dog onion, potato, chocolate (even the doogy choc drops...still chocolate) or grapes.

I'm sure your pup will be fine.
