I was never having kids for medical reasons Then at 33 found myself pregnant and alone lol. I got pregnant again with the help of a donor on my 36th birthday as I didn't wanted my DD to be an only child. Planning no 3 next year - I love being pregnant despite the complications i experience. I think 3 will be my magic number as I'm not getting any younger and babies don't come cheap

I came from a big family (7 kids - Mum wanted 5, had 6, then had a surprise) and assumed I wanted a big family too.

DH and I both wanted four, maybe five. But, like a few PPs he is much older than me. And we have had trouble staying pregnant. In hindsight, having such a high miscarriage risk turned out a good thing, because it meant that I didn't just keep having children. Because guess what: I don't love it as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, I love being a mum and love my kids to bits, but I'm glad we are done now (just had our third) because I can see a point now that's past toddlerhood!

Three is a happy compromise for us between sanity and desire.
