Default QFG (Queensland Fertility Group) Users

Hi, Just wondering if there is anyone on here that is going through or have gone though the QFG (Queensland Fertility Group) for IVF. We are thinking of QFG Mackay. If we go down this road we will be ICSI & IVF. How was your experience? Has anyone got an Itemised Price List? How long did it take you. Overall cost? The rough estimation we received was $2600 with medicare safety net and cheaper with Private Health.

We used QGF on the Gold Coast and were very happy with them. We are now 34 weeks pregnant. It took us 4 rounds of IVF/ ICSI but did cost a lot! PH only covered hospital care in our case for EPU. I don't have exact figures as I tried to blank that part a little! You will also be able to claim medical expenses in your tax. It's also worth remembering that Medicare and most PH funds "reset" on jan 1st so you may end having to pay a 2nd excess fee.

Good luck on your IVF journey

Thanks for your reply, we have no excess with PH, it's just watching our safety net. I know you said you didn't keep count on cost but does around the $2600 with the safety net and without PH seem right to you.

I know a lot of people talking about travelling to Sydney for have it done at Westmead but for us it's not possible but by the time you pay for flights and accomodation your would be looking at more for costs anyway.

Sadly we would most prob only can do 2 rounds so it works 1st time

Sounds way to cheap to me. Think up front it's about 10k and you will get about 6k back. It all adds up bits here and there. Good luck.

I am with QFG Cairns my first cycle was ivf icsi cost was 7,060$ ivf 700$ icsi 850$ fertility specialist management fee our PH covered day surgery no excess applicable. Gap I paid for anaethestist was 80$ all medication and pessaries included. I got back approximately 4,500$ the first one the second I got back approximately 6,300$. I have spent much more on herbs acupuncture massage etc though I haven't included in this cost. I think they are quoting best case Medicare returns once you have met thee dictate cap.

    Good luck

I'm with QFG Brisbane and we must have paid about 10,500 (had a cancelled cycle so about 1.5 cycles but fees mainly rolled over) There was another 1k of fees/drugs we couldn't claim for during those 1.5 cycles.

    We got back about 6k.

I have found the specialists very good and his staff excellent - however the nurses at the clinic itself are a bit dozy! Hardly know any answers to the Qs i had and hard to get thru too when u ring them, I had one stupid nurse tell me yesterday (i'm 5kws3days) that the important thing is that i am pregnant for now! Stupid women said that twice to me on a routine phone call to check up on me...now shes put the ****s up me when i was relatively happy with our progress.
    Thinking of laying a complaint.

Hello angelbutterfly my partner and I are also going through IVF. Bit we are going to SYDNEY Westmead IVF clinic. If you have a look at their website, it is alot cheaper. And good rates.
