We were on that road on Friday. A trip that should have taken us a little over 5 hrs took 6 hrs and 20 minutes due to roadworks and delays. I'd avoid if you can

Sorry to crash your thread .... I'm driving to Childers at the end of the month for a wedding ... Is there anywhere that shows where the roadworks are? I'm already stressed about the trip because DS who is almost 5 months hates the car ...

    TIA

My mates drove from Hervey Bay to Mackay, they were still 3 hours outside of mackay and said they had driven through 22 sets of roadworks!!

I wouldnt chance it. too many roadworks and too many accidents lately..

That is sad. We rely on that site in wet season. Dh needs to know if he can make t home before he leaves (5 hrs ) drive. He often get stuck on the side of the road due to flooding and has to ring me to find out if it open at all or to 4wd only or everyone etc..
