    Default Wine in cooking?

    Hi
I'm about to make dinner and the recipe calls for white wine, it will be cooked for about 20-30 min so the alcohol should cook off.... Do you think it's ok to eat, I'm 12 weeks...

There has been a thread about this before.....all the alcohol does not get cooked off in the cooking process however the amount of alcohol that is left in a serve is minimal so would be fine to eat.

For example...you may have put in 150ml wine.....divided by 4 serves....cooking has reduced alcohol content so what you would be having is negligible.

A study conducted by the US Department of Agriculture’s Nutrient Data Laboratory calculated the percentage of alcohol remaining in a dish based on various cooking methods. The results are as follows:

If you check out this website...it has a great graph of how much alcohol is left after cooking - http://www.ochef.com/165.htm

Yes fine, I add wine to risotto that I give the kids. It evaporates with cooking.

I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Evaporation aside, how much wine really goes into a dish? About half a cup to one cup? Distributed throughout the entire dish, I really wouldn't be worried. At all.
