We are the opposit here lol. I really dislike second hand stuff especially for our kids, regardless the condition unless its never been used. DH is not a huge fan of seconds for our kids either, but he wouldnt mind a good bargain and depending on what it is. DH wouldnt mind second hand furniture for example but wont buy second hand clothing and I am not into seconds at all unfortunately.

LOL! If you clean it when you get it, it should be fine. He should be grateful that you are so money conscience!

If you really want to freak him out, just remind him the next time he goes to a store to try on some new clothes that it has probably been tried on 10 times before he has got to it!

I know right! I mean it's all the same and I do clean everything I buy regardless if it's new or used thoroughly...
I think I'm just going to go ahead and buy used

Your dh would be appalled that i scored a toddle bed from kerbside collection the other day. My dh thought it was a pretty good score.

I would love to purchase second hand things but anything I mention to my mum she throws money at me to buy brand new

Wish I had friends and relatives to share things with as well.. but nobody is at the same stage and those who are frown upon used goods so I'm stuck.

I am in the same boat. We live off 3 pensions in the house and barely make ends meet some weeks.. but DH isn't too happy with the idea of second hand.. I have been given a few things so I pretty much tell him I will be using xyz cause I was given it. other things like our cot I eventually worked out he though mum got the matterss with it. I eventually told him No it was bought separate and was hardly used only by 1 nephew 2 hours a week for a year..

He didn't like the colour of the cot so as soon as I can I plan to sand and paint it.. just need to buy sander and dremel cause I am not sanding a whole cot by hand,
