in the hospital setting i would probably want a portacot or something to contain him. toys to play with etc.

If you go into labour at night, could you labour at home?

If he is sleeping when you go into labour, is there anyone who could come to your house and stay until your mum could come? My neighbours offered, and most people would love to be asked. And you have time to get him used to them if they are needed.

If he was sleeping, could you pick our mum up and bring her to your place. That way you know he is in a safe place that he is used to.

    it is a hard one.

Look into a student midwife. They need all the experience they can get, so you will definitely find one and they will want to help you labour. (and free)

They often post on forums looking for Mums or contact your local uni.

I have one following me. They come to your appointments and attend the birth if you allow it and I think do some after birth questions.
