I vacuum once a week. Most days I'll get the kids to run the carpet sweeper over the floor or rugs. They really like doing it.

Um you've got to be kidding me, daily?
    Where does everyone find time?
I hate vacuuming. One of my least favourite chores. And it is such an effort, getting the thing out of the cupboard, connecting up the powerhead, lugging it around corners and other ridiculously tight spaces, dodging scared screaming toddlers, shifting furniture, shifting toys, doing your back in...
What type of vacuums does everyone have that obviously makes it more appealing? Please share, I would love to know!!!

Yes! This is exactly what I want to know, truly I do! I only work 2 days a week but I still don't see how there can be enough time in the day to vacuum once a day, let alone more than that?

I'm not having a go at anyone, not at all, I'm genuinely interested.

Reason I ask too, is I HATE having bits stick to my feet aaarrrggghbb! I have recently purchased a cheap stick vacuum (rechargeable) from kmart that IF I remember, will use each night (its so much quicker as I don't have to unplug 5 times, like I do with regular vac)

I don't vacuum every day because we have all hard floors so I sweep and mop the living areas everyday instead. I do it before I go to bed. When I vacuum I often vacuum the kids room and hallway near their rooms at some point through the day and then vacuum the rest of the house once they are sound asleep.
Sweeping everyday, even when our floors look clean, reminds me of just how dirty carpet is. Carpet hides a lot. but that doesn't mean it is clean.
After having hard floors I'll never have carpet again.

I vacuum the lounge room daily, sometimes more than once. I have to as it gets so dirty. I also sweep the kitchen floor daily. Both jobs take 2 mins.
The rest of the house, well maybe once a fortnight i vacuum.

Nope once a fortnight here. That being said, we have no pets, no shoes inside and carpet in the bedrooms only. The floorboards get swept every 2/3 days.

Daily? Heck, no way! Once a fortnight is the best we manage, sometimes even less frequently than that!

Our carpet is pretty thin though (needs replacing) and we don't have pets. I sweep up food scraps from my almost 12mo who throws food from her high chair. I sweep multiple times a day (long handle brush & shovel works a treat!) and sometimes use the handheld mini vaccum as well.

We have wooden floors and I usually only do it when the dust is obvious around the skirting boards - "sl.uts wool" believe its called

I do itweekly at most. Its so much work to pull the thing out, lift all the rugs/bags/toys etc. It takes me a good hour and I usually do it over a day in between outings and playing etc.

In between I sweep and swiffer tho, there is nothing give me the irrits more than walking around with crumbs sticking to my feet

I do the loungeroom three times a week, sometimes more if it's needed. We have dark carpet and pets, so it needs to be done. The bedrooms are done twice a week. Sweep every few days.

We only have a small house - I can vacuum the whole house from one powerpoint.
