I only had it with my first as I really just wanted to see the baby!! Am nearly 12 weeks with my third and am not doing it. I also figure the 20 week scam will show anything and I also wouldn't terminate for any reason.

No at this stage I would not have the NT screening during a pregnancy

I'm 35 and 22 weeks pregnant. We've chosen not to have any scans.

Is there anywhere I can find a more recent statistics on this? I look up Mayo Clinic and a few other medical site, the published stat still seems to be 1%. Appreciate if you've seen other info.

I am going through the same as you, after my first pregnancy was positive for T21. this time around im in the low risk, but torn between deciding risking the healthy baby to do the test. I just recieved a call today from my local hospital - there is a new blood test that has no risk to the baby and is meant to be very accurate. The test costs $2000, I am visiting the hospital next week to learn more about it. Just thought I would share as I know how stressful it is.

Take a look at this article in the British Medical Journal, it talks mostly about amnio however the comments are relevant to CVS as well. It showed a risk of 1 in 1600 for miscarriage from amnio.

This study also found that the risks of miscarriage following amnio was not significantly different from the risk of miscarriage in women who DIDNT have an amnio at all (0.13-0.97% in women who had amnio, vs 0.84% who didn't have amnio at all).
