Default Wanting another baby but woried about the road ahead.

Hi ladies I have not been on bub hub for years now.... Very sad know so DH told me the other night he would love to have another baby which is beautiful but just worried about having a two yearold and doing IVF. We wont go down that track till we have a new house so in another 12 months maybe. So any people out there do IVF with another young child and how did you go? GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ARE TTC XO

    Hi Mummybride

I have an 18mth old and am currently in the 2WW TTC#2. It is more difficult with a toddler but not impossible. We have not made our IVF journey a public one so there are only a couple of people that know, this made it harder with getting our daughter looked after when needed. She won't sit still to go to the clinic so for the BT's hubby took her to a park nearby and for EPU and ET a friend looked after her.
The only thing I hadn't covered was the days following transfer when I was not allowed to pick her up (stupid me should have thought of that LOL) but we got through it and she had fun climbing the stool into her cot for me
She also picked up a bug from somewhere and we all got sick a couple of days before transfer so next time I will keep her away from everyone before.
Hopefully the little emby has stuck through it all and we won't have to go again.
GOOD LUCK with trying for #2

I have just done this and have my BFP for IVF bub #2 with a 2 year old in tow.
This time I personally found easier emotionally as I knew what to expect, was focussing on bub#1 and didn't really have the time/energy to think about things nearly as much. On the other hand I was 2 years older and it took significantly more cycles so I'm glad I kind of 'got on with it' if you know what I mean (perhaps not such an issue if you have frozen embies).
Bub #1 came to most of my appointments, blood tests and scans, pick up, transfer- the works! Kept him in the pram for ultrasounds, transfers sat on dads lap, blood tests played with toys in the centre. He cried the first time the nurses took me in for collection which made me cry so after that I said a happy goodbye before I went in. Mostly he probably just thinks going to the nurse is just a fun normal thing people just do!
Good luck. You did it the first time so you are definitely strong enough to do it again!

    hi

i did ivf for number 2 when DS was about 10 months then got a bfp when he was 14 months old....second time was a lot easier for me emotionally and only took 2 attempts....i will say it was hard at the end of pg with a 2yo and big belly and the early days with newborn is harder when u already have a small child who is still very dependant on you...i did set a limit of 3 cycles for number 2 as tbh i was over ivf but i really wanted a second baby....u will know how many attempts u can handle when i go back as i recall rocking up to the clinic one day and thinking u know what im realllllllllllllly sick of this so if it doesnt work i can live with it...but lucky it worked. good luck.

Thanks for replying ladies. Have a rough road since posting this thread. Just recovering from having surgery last week so baby plas are on a stand still. You have all given me new found strength to try for a second bub without too much worry like I had before. However, need to get all these other issues sorted out before starting on the IVF road again.
