    Awesome cakes! I'm totally stealing the Ninjago idea for DS1's next birthday!

    Mine are very much mum cakes but I love making them while the kids still let me - soon they'll be too big and too cool.

    When done well, it looks awesome - when done badly, it looks terrible. I will illustrate with Misskitty's bad kitty cake - the cake was uneven underneath, was white choc mud cake and tasted good, but I put a white choc ganache on it and have since found out I should have used buttercream to make it all even before laying the fondant. I made marshmallow fondant and it was just a mess!
    And thanks BT - DS asked for it and I did my best!

    Haha nice! I've just made a batman cake too for ds's 4th birthday, I used fondant and it's currently wrapped up a million times in the freezer (had to make it in advance) hoping it holds up ok :/
