Oh no, how terrible! I shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help it...! My DD has only done it a couple of times but my younger brother used to do it ALL THE TIME when he was a toddler and Mum bought some really long tweezers to deal with it. Our next door neighbour was also our family GP and he fished out more than his fair share of rice bubbles, marbles, sultanas... ETA: Mum also used a flashlight to see where the items were lodged.

My cousin shoved one of those sequin scatters in the shape of a christmas tree! Then proceeded to 'suck' it up by inhaling!

DD1 put three beads up there, the night of a huge move (18 hrs from our old house). We remembered there was dr on the way to house, so off we went. They fitted us in only to discover it the last bead had gone too far for them to remove so than we were told is was probably going to be a op to remove it. The dr thought of a mate who was a out of the box thinker. He rang him and talk about how to get it out. He (the mate) was working at a local private hospital, we explain we had no money as we had spent every cent on the move, He Said to come and he wouldn't charge us he wanted to try out his idea. When we get there he has the nurse go get this huge needle that they use in vein surgeries. It had a balloon at the tip of the needle. He stuck it up her nose, blew up the balloon and pull it out. She was too scared to ever do it again.
