Default Do you think boys want to start solids earlier than girls?

My 4.5mo DS just pinched a hot chip right out of my hand today and stuffed it in his mouth, the little bugger! I actually started him on solids a couple of weeks ago and he seems to be enjoying it, but it got me wondering if baby boys want to start solids earlier than girls, as my DD didn't do that kind of thing until she was a bit older. A couple of friends also said their little boys seemed hungrier (for solids) earlier than their daughters.

Obviously every baby is different and this is all just anecdotal, but I was still curious...

Nope, wasn't true for mine. I have a boy and a girl, and DS didn't get into solids until well after 12 months. He started at 6 months but just wasn't all that interested. DD started at 4.5 months and has been a good eater ever since 6 months. She doesn't eat huge quantities, but she gives everything a go and likes her food much more than DS did at the same age.
