    Default Dried chickpeas

    I bought a pack of dried chickpeas and they have no instructions on them. I thought soaking them in water would be fine then tossing them through a salad, but they taste funny. What should I do?

    You need to cook them. Not sure how long but i think about an hour in simmering water?
    Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will reply.

    I found some dried chickpeas in my cupboard and it has instructions. The quick method is rinse, place in saucepan and cover with water, bring to boil and simmer for approx 45 mins, until tender.
    Soaking will reduce the cooking time.

    yeh you need to boil them (unless you are making falafels then you just use soaked raw chickpeas)

    Soak them in water overnight first, ideally. Then yeah, boil or blitz up raw & fry for felafel (yum!).
