So confused... How did coffee tables, brand names and a certain kind of lighting enter 'bogan' lists??

Has bogan become the new 'yuppie'?

I went to the supermarket in bare feet the other day.. (I'd been at the beach) I regularly have Metallica blaring in my car.. I live in the west and have tattoos.
Also wondering about the coffee table and downlighting thing o_O though I don't have either!

    Yeah we have:
    a coffee table
Dd1 has a hyphenated first name
    A blown commodore
    A bug zapper
Have been known to regularly cook over a fire pit while drinking xxxx or teds
Have been known to go shopping barefoot
    And in pj pants

But we don't own (and I have no real desire to) a thermomix. Which I am going to add to the bogan criteria

How on earth does owning a $2000 kitchen appliance make someone a bogan? That just makes no sense.

So many people seem to own them that they are the "in" thing to have at the moment. Like down lights, striders and coffee tables once were.

Eta: but then again some things that people say are bogan don't make sense either

What have strider been replaced by? Or are they still bogan?

Track pants get worn out of the house routinely nowadays. I do have the excuse that I need to wear my runners with orthotic insoles every second day thanks to plantar fasciitis, and I refuse to do the Seinfeld style jeans+white runners look. So yoga pants or trackies it is.

Hmmm... Rereading that, I think it makes me an old biddy, not a bogan.
