Default Baby shower for 2nd baby

    Hi Ladies

I am thinking about having a baby shower for my 2nd bub. I never had one with my 1st. I just wonder if people will think its odd.

I don't think it would be odd! ESP seeing as you never had one with your first. I had one with my first 2 but not with this one, I didn't want one.

I was shocked when I heard people complaining about 2 or more baby showers (on a thread here a long time ago). I would just assume that each baby gets its own baby shower. The gift seems to be the problem, in which case people can state they dont want gifts..or whatever.
    Have one and enjoy!

I'm sorry, but yes, I would find it odd. The idea of a baby shower is to celebrate the transition to motherhood - which you've already done.

Something small, like afternoon tea with some girlfriends (like a poster suggested above) would be nice, but I wouldn't call it a baby shower.

I don't know anyone IRL who would find it odd - several of my girlfriends have had one.

I see it as celebrating the baby that's coming. I think it would take a bit of a mean spirited friend to begrudge some time with her girlfriends to celebrate something nice like that.

Some people in here (old threads) have mentioned they see it as a 'present grab', but that's never occurred to me at all. Just a happy celebration of something exciting. I don't think anyone could have an issue with that if you never had a first one anyway.

I'd say go for it, and have an awesome time!
