3/4 packet of arrowroot biscuits
3/4 cup of melted butter
Blend together (I just use my stick blender with the little bowl and blade thing) until crumbly. Press into bottom of slice tin.
1/2 cup brow sugar
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 cup butter
11/2 cup peanut butter
Blend all together until smooth. Smooth into slice tin.
1 big block of Cadbury milk chocolate
1/4 cup butter
Possibly the trickiest part of the recipe... I generally melt an extra 1/4 cup of butter with step 1 and put it aside. Melt chocolate in microwave then mix together with butter and smooth on top of peanut butter filling. Put into fridge to cool then slice and serve!!! Yum!!
I do a coconut sticky date slice, a cheesecake slice and a maple caramel slice that always go down pretty well!
Oh dear - great thread
I make a yummy one from bestrecipes.com.au with clinker lollies. No bake and it's beautiful, always get asked for the recipe when we take it out
Oh great thread. I have to do morning tea for playgroup on Tuesday so need to think of something (hopefully without going to the shops)
Im considered our families desert/slice queen... Its always "Can you make slices.....?!"
The quickest ones i do (all are almost no-bake)
Just let me know which you'd be interested in
Vanilla/Custard Slice - need oven to bake pastry (10-12mins?)
Peppermint Crisp Slice - can replace with Mars, crunchy, cherry ripe etc..Fast and EASY!
Peppermint Cherry Slice - Can be made and FROZEN!
Butternut Caramel Snaps - need oven for about 5-10mins
They're the main ones, but theres always lemony coconut one, coconut ice, apple slices, lamingtons.....
Ill do the cherry peppermint one tomorrow, i dont know it off the top of my head...but the other 2...
PEPPERMINT CRISP SLICE
1 pkt Marie biscuits (can use others like arrowroot etc)
1 tin condensed milk
3 Peppermint crisps (can get away with 2 for a more subtle taste....or replace with other chocolate bars like crunchy, cherry ripe etc)
Place biscuits and peppermint crisps into blender/food processor. Mix until breadcrumby consistency (Can do chunkier if you prefer)
Mix through condensed milk until all combined
Press into slice tin or square cake tin (makes less pieces but thicker) and let it set in the fridge for about 2hrs, then cut and serve.
**Optional** We also melt some chocolate and pour it over the top before setting in the fridge, and can put some sprinkles/coconut etc on too. I had a friend add either butter or cream, i cant remember, to the chocolate so it didnt set quite so hard and crack when cut.
BUTTERNUT CARAMEL SNAPS
1 packet of Butternut snaps (arnotts are best)
1 tin caramel top n fill
Cream (whipped, to top)
Put the biscuits one each over a shallow rounded muffin tin, and bake 180c until soft.
Use a soup spoon (i found is best) and press the biscuits gently into the tray to make a small shallow well in the centre.
When they are cooled, spoon/pipe the caramel into them. Top with whipped cream (and maybe a glace cherry for added looks)
