Default Cough medicine for 1yr old

Hi all - does any one know if there is a good/safe cough medicine for 1 year old?

DS has an awful cough that is now making him throw up sometimes due to the force of it

I really don't want to take him out in the cold wind/car to find out there's nothing for his age yet! TIA.

You will have to go to GP. I haven't found any that are able to be used under 2.

Prospan is a natural cough medicine made from ivy leaf extract that can be used from birth. You can get it from priceline. Whether it actually works, the jury is still out

Oh thanks everyone - I wasn't aware of the age of 6 recommendation.

I've had the vaporizer on for a week now and most of his cold is gone, but the cough is still bad. Guess I'll have to just ride it out with him, poor bugger!

If you are game to use honey - I mix honey with tumeric powder and dd1 swallows it.

Warm Honey and lemon tea is good too in a sippy cup.
