Same here. Plus if you have a grinder you know the ground coffee is fresh because you did it yourself. I'm not so sure the pods would be fresh?

Right on. Freshly ground is the way coffee should be.

We have a Sunbeam Bellisimo which is fully automatic. I use it twice a day and on the weekend DH and I use it quite a bit. We love it!

Yes we have a nespresso and dp and I have 1 every morning, I put dp's in a takeaway cup so he has it on the way to work, save $ and time not stopping every morning.

We upgraded from a little Breville to a fancier Sunbeam and have loved both. We do cheat & buy our coffee pre-ground, but we haven't had instant coffee in our house for years.
Go the machine - you'll never look back!

I use eBay ones. The seller is astra.ttoau.stralia. (remove '.') I have used them at least 20 times each so far & they're going great!

We had an automatic machine until we recently upgraded to an italian manual machine where you control the amount of coffee (we have a burr grinder) and manually froth the milk. I loooooove it. I didn't like the automatic machine as I like my coffee strong and it was never strong enough for me.

I found when we lived in melbourne we didn't use our coffee machine as much as I loved the social interaction which came with going to our local cafe for a take away coffee which was beautiful and cheap. Since moving to Perth we've absolutely given this machine a hiding. We can't get great coffee near us and it costs an absolute fortune for really bad coffee.

So yes if you think you'd prefer to make a coffee at home then it's definitely worth it.
