Meh I dont have any issue with it, In fact if I wasnt so overweight I would do it

and there most certainly ARE male topless waiters, where they wear nothing more than underwear and a bow tie if you're lucky

I'm all for topless waitressing male or female. It creating jobs. Who are we all to judge what someone else does for a living? Once upon a time, we all walked around naked, the human body is a beautiful thing, if you have the confidence to show it off then why not? I don't see it as a big deal but that's just my opinion.

Darn right I'm uptight about it. And for so many reasons. For one, these women are just there for their breasts. They're being reduced to one body part as though nothing else matters. They're simply objects to arouse the men. It degrades both the women and the men.

i'm all for healthy s.exuality. This isn't healthy, imo.

The take away place wants to get an edge on the competition? Here's a novel idea - provide better quality food.

Exactly, there are topless waiters and male strippers, just as there are women.
And I know if my dh's work mates are going to a nudie bar or the strippers, he doesn't just tag along because he's worried what they'll think of him. Many a times he has flat out told them " it's ok mate, I'm not interested in seeing thy cr@p".

So many men that work in a trade feel they have to put up with this stuff just because others have decided, "that's what tradies like." So many events are based around nude/nearly nude women and it just sickens me.
Absolutely! I think if I were a tradie with even half a sense of decency I would be rather insulted. To those customers that happily go along to get served by a topless woman, would they be happy for their wife, sister, daughter to work there? ALL women are someone's daughters.

Says who? Not everyone would agree with you there. If if the majority agreed with you how much of that is because we are trained so very early on in life to believe this to be the case?

So you think there is no peer pressure in workplaces then?

Of course we like to look at attractive bodies of the gender(s) we are attracted to, that's normal evolutionary behaviour. This is just a totally different. It's degrading to both the men (customers) and woman (and before anyone gets up in arms maybe there are some that enjoy being an exhibitionist but there's a time and place and serving lunch is not that time nor place). This situation is completely different to going to strip clus etc. The objective of these places is to establish a place where women (and sometimes men) can be ogled. Customers actively go there for these activities. This is a cafe, a totally different environment - it's objective is to serve coffee, lunch etc.

*sigh* And we wonder why so many men have such poor attitudes to women.

They should set up on the beach, with the bikinis some women wear, they might as well be topless and we wouldn't be having this debate.

I don‘t entirely see the need to cover up. Society is raised to think nudity in public is bad, lacks morals, ought to be stamped out and illegal.

If that‘s the case, why aren‘t we born fully clothed!? Surely it would be better to just normalise nudity. Or do people feel their hair, eyes, hands, etc, are all objectified?

I think it‘s sad that it‘s seen as so shameful to be naked that so many women are up in arms about it. They‘re boobs. This isn‘t a defence. It‘s what they are. They are there and society has made it so shameful to see them, that it‘s now taboo and everyone wants to see them.
