Default When did YOU first eat solids?

5 months, was exclusively BF. I have allergies to sulfites and salicylates.

Another 80s baby, started at three months. No serious food allergies but banana makes me feel queasy (more due to travel sickness and only being allowed to eat bananas in my dads car). I'm allergic to sulphides in medications ie Bactrim.

mum said eat as in fed or eat as in tasted?

she can't remember when I was allowed to suck on a steak or snag or lick some mash off her finger would say about 2-3 months. She said farex maybe 3-4 months.

Forgot to say Born 1980, 3 older siblings from 1974 on wards.

Allergies: Almost anything hypo allergenic, stainless steel. I get queasy from smell of coffee.. tasted it prior to Solids (don't ask), Also smell of Most peanut butters makes me queasy too.

I was born in 1983, my dad thinks i start around 6 months old, he cant remember for sure. I am allergic to shellfish, this only came out when i was about 23.

When i had DS my nan who is 87 told me i should give him mashed potato from 1 week old!!! She told me it was the norm when she had kids. She had kids in the late 40s to 1961 Needless to say i didnt take this advice! None of her children have any allergies or any medical concerns.

Late 70s for me and pretty sure I started solids around 2-3months which mum said was the done thing.

I was eating steak by 6 months.

I don't have any food allergies.

Born 77, given freshly squeezed orange juice at 6 weeks and Farex at 12 weeks. No food allergies. I was bottle fed as mum couldn't breast feed as I was premie and she was sick.

My sister born 79 was fed Carnation milk rather than formula. She only has allergies to seafood.

My 11 mth DD started purees at 4 mths, eggs & peanut butter at 6mths, she now eats everything and has no allergies.

Somewhere 4-6 months. I had a look in my baby book that Mum had kept when DD was a baby. I giggled at the "formula" I was to be given though... watered down milk with sugar in it. Sure that was full of good stuff.

I know in some circles, solids were being introduced at around 3 weeks of age. Farex mostly.

ETA - I was born in 1986. I have no known food intollerances or allergies. Didn't suffer any health issues as a kid apart from recurring tonsilitis due to my large tonsils.
