Default 5mth runny poo 5 times day

My ds is always hard to settle so took him to doc a month or so ago and he suggested colic so get novalac colic formula. I did that and for first week it seemed to help

Now though for past 2 weeks he has been pooing around 4 or 5 times a day and the poo varies from green paste to yellow curds and watery yellow green dark brown all in a day!

Would this be formula? Im nearly out of the novolac so want tp try something new.. Maybe goats milk or soy? For his unsettled Ness and poops ..also red bum after each poo..
Anyone know what could be going on?

I'm fairly sure the number of times he's poohing is normal but I'm not sure about the range of colours it's coming in. Sorry I'm not much help...do you dry and apply ointment to his bottom after every motion?

That range of colour is normal for a bf baby. As long as it's not frothy.

Does it smell really bad? I tried all different formula cause I had the same. Turns out he had giardiasis . Didn't show up in his poo test as it can be hard to detect but as soon as he started the flagyl he stated pooing normal

Yep its pretty stinky too i always know as soon as he has done one.
He is already on solids and has been for a month so i thought his poop should be getting more solid too which is why i also worry..

Oh if he's on solids I'd say the different colours are OK. What's he eating? DS's poohs didn't go solid for a while after starting solids.

Dunno if it's the same thing but dd1 had runny stinky poos, an acrid pungent smell that really got into your nose (sorry! Best way I can describe it) and frequent, never-solid stools, not quite diarrhoea but never well-formed either. She turned out to be dairy allergic & wheat intolerant, not saying your bub is but if you suspect something is not right, trust your instincts.

Can you back off on the solids, get poos normal again and then retry the solids? ATM as I understand it, you don't know if it's the formula or the solids. Personally, that's what I would do hth
