Default How old was/would you expect..

My son is 6.5 and I haven't thought about that yet. I'm guessing probably about 9 is the age?
    Good question

    Cheers people!

I think it would be easier if I didn't have 3 so close in age.
They can do all of the things I listed... They just stuff around doing it.

I still like to supervise, especially tooth brushing.

I was about 10, but it probably could have been earlier but I didn't know what a shower was until I moved to Australia.

My first child was 7 when they were able to. My other however is 5 and can do it no problem at all now too (within the last few months).

my ds is 9 and has been doing all that for yrs. except turning on his in water maybe last 2 yrs only.
i do often have to knock and remind him to get out though other than that he does it all unprompted.

Dentist told us that a child needs help brushing their teeth until about 9 y as the don't have the fine moter skills needed to brush properly. 4.5 y old DD can do all this herself but not sure how well...2.5 y old has a way to go yet.

My DD is 9 and all I need to do these days is turn the shower on and she does the rest. Luckily she hates bathing (strange child) so she just gets in, washes her body and gets out unless it's after swimming then she washes hair, conditioner in, washes body, rinses condition and out!

ETA; teeth are done separately wore going to bed, I usually have her shower while I'm cooking dinner.

DD is 5 and does it all herself except turn the shower/bath on (i need to get it to right temp)... But then she turns taps off when enough water in bath, washes herself with washer and body wash, plays with toys, gets out and towel dries, finds pjs, gets dressed, hangs towel up (usually have to prompt this!), brushes teeth when told to, then i brush her hair.. She has only just turned 5 two weeks ago, and has been doing all this for about 6 months now

ETA she cant wash her own hair yet

My Sons are 7&5. I turn the shower on but most nights they wash themselves, dry, get dressed, brush teeth & toilet. They do require reminders such as a 2 minute warning for the shower or they would stay in all night!
