Default Waiting lists for anon sperm donor??

Thanks peonies! It's hard not to get disheartened with all the waiting. Have to call the clinic tomorrow morning to check if we need another appointment to formulate a treatment plan. Realised too we didn't get the counsellor to sign our consents! Oops

Veritas - are you going to the one in the city? That's where we went.

Default Waiting lists for anon sperm donor??

Hey, no we aren't based in Sydney, but up the coast a couple of hours :-) transferred from fert first to the local clinic :-).

FS is now on leave til mid Jan so we won't know anything further about what appts etc I need prior to starting til then. So hard to stay patient!

Which FS are you seeing? My one seems to work out of so many different locations, including the central coast office I think.

Ahh, that's not mine. Well, I wish you the best of luck! Hopefully the IVFA office staff up there are better organised than the Syd CBD one.

Veritas.... yes, all this waiting is the worst thing, just thinking that we're running out of time, waiting for donor list, waiting for next AF, waiting for appointments etc etc. Thankfully this forum lets me see that I'm not the only one in the same boat, so crazily that makes me feel better.

AFM.... the MFI specialist that DH will use for his micro-dissection prodecure will be away for a couple of days in the middle of February and then again for a couple of days in the middle of March, so we're hoping that my EPU dates don't clash with his absence dates, otherwise I'll be mighty annoyed to do yet more waiting.

There doesn't seem to be anything I can do, so we'll go off on holidays for two weeks, and try not to think about IVF too much until we get back :-) Then we can calculate all those dates again, and see how close we are.

Default Waiting lists for anon sperm donor??

It's so frustrating to add that extra factor of drs leave into the mix isn't it. Fingers crossed it all lines up for you.

Had another moment of frustration turned crankiness last night. We joined the list waiting for IVF viable sperm in beginning October and were told a wait of 2-4 months, but likely three. Early jan takes us to three months but latest reports say no earlier than late jan. Now friends of ours joined the list for iui suitable sperm in August september and were given a timeframe of 4 but more likely 6 months and are now at the top of the list. Really happy for them but can't help feeling shirty that ours isn't going to be sooner.

After a crappy and expensive experience with The old clinic, no support, no information, inconsistent treatment, a potentially viable pg that ended as chemical because of zero follow up on their part (we didn't even know our hcg levels were actually fairly decent til the nurse at our next insem) all the financial stress, waiting and wondering if it's ever going to work gets a bit much some times.

Veritas.... Yes, this donor wait list is frustrating to say the least, especially when there's loads of sperm available in the US, but the issue being that IVFA only buys/contracts a small number each month. I feel like saying to them, that I would pay even more just to get the sperm sooner, surely that should be possible?

However, perhaps there is hope, since your IUI friend got to the top of the IUI list quicker than expected, that the same may happen for us on the IVF/ICSI list. Fingers crossed.

Yes, my major thing I've learnt through the past year, is not to hesitate to phone up to get information, updates and ask questions. I don't know why some places, some people etc in this business seem incompetent, and I shake my head at work when people complain how their GP was 15 minutes late or some other trivial matter. If only they knew!! It just makes us stronger. Have my fingers crossed for you and everyone else here :-)
