Default Help temperature and bad gas!!

Need some advise, DD spiked a temp yesterday arvo with no symptoms, except for really bad gas? Very loud and smelly, seems to give her some pain. All day was fine even whilst trying to pass wind but last night was up every 45 min trying to pass wind and crying from pain, no diarrhoea or vomiting no ear pulling or sore throte just gas? Temp has been 37.5/38 but stabilised when given nurofen. She is cutting all 4 molers and all for fangs so teething really badly too any suggestions on what this could be going to see her doc tomorrow as we can't get in today! Help had 2 hours sleep!!!!!

37.5/38 is not a temp?? It's not classed as a temp until it goes above 38 according to the RCH in Brisbane.......

It was 39 but by keeping her cool I am able to keep it down to 37.5/38 and with nurofen I can get it down to 37, she normally runs at 36

Is she constipated? I wouldnt be giving nurofen for such a low temp. As obviously the body is working at fighting off something.

    Ah ok, sorry I misunderstood!

It could be a virus, or the beginnings of tummy pain. I dont think teething should cause fevers that high!

If you are worried, take her to the gp today...

Hope she feels better soon xxxxx

It could be a multitude of things really, I would just keep her hydrated and keep at eye on her. The temp is usually the start of the illness, so other symptoms could become apparent.

Default Help temperature and bad gas!!

We gave her nurofen before bed as it reached 39 after her bath. No constipations 2 healthy stool movements yesterday! Can't get into her GP till tomorrow and the last time I took her to a local they just gave me a script for anit biotics without really checking her out that well. My main concern is the gas, is there anything I can give her to make it easier to pass?

You can try infacol or infants friend from the chemist for wind.
Sounds like a bug the hit our house (6.5 mth DS then me then DH).

Really high fever (39.5 for DS, didn't take ours), upset tummy but not vomiting or runs, knocked out solid for 36-48 hours then back to normal with no other symptoms.

Hope she gets better soon and hope you don't catch what she has.
