    Default Help us save Queensland!!!

For those that don't live in QLD, our new budget was handed down today with over 4,000 job cuts to the health sector (not including the cancellation of temporary contracts or the non-filling of current vacancies such as graduate nurse and midwife programs.)

Even if you don't live in QLD please sign this petition so hopefully some change might happen. Also please share with family/friends.

Lots of you would have or know people who have been cared for under the Queensland Public Health system particularly for your pregnancies and care of your children.

Help the system that helps you.

We are waiting to see if my niece has lost her job after just spending her life's saving to move towns to start this job 4 weeks ago. She knows at least 2 people from her dept will go now and most of them will gone by march. Because we all know that have most our bloods test having to be flown to Brisbane instead being done in our local hospital won't cost life's.

    Thanks everyone, means a lot!
Personally I was offered a graduate midwife job back in May and yesterday signalled the last day of the 6 week starting period for the offer.

    Today.... I'm still a waitress.

Is he a doctor? I would say fingers crossed that doctors are valued more highly, but the person who has handling my job situation has said that the same hospital is still trying to place a number of doctors who were also interviewed at the same time as us

Done, I'm already scared enough going to a different hospital to have this baby let alone worrying whether I'll get good care now.
