Default Appointments made with 2 obs. Advice please?

Has anyone seen more than 1 ob for initial consultation and do the obs take it kindly when they know you are "ob shopping" and may not return to them for continuing obstetric care? Also I am concerned about doubling up of tests (blood/urine) and scans when you see more than 1 ob.

I have an appointment to see Dr J for my first consultation at 12.5 weeks (that's the earliest he could see me).

While I was waiting for Dr J's receptionist to get back to me with that appointment date (and it took 2 weeks) I got worried about him not being available and so I made an appointment to see Dr L which is scheduled for when I am at 9.5 weeks.

My preference is Dr J, but truth is I have met neither, and I would like to get some kind of confirmation that the pregnancy is going well sooner than later. That's because I am 34-going 35. Also I will be visiting my father overseas when I am 11 weeks, which is before my appointment with Dr J, and I want to tell him the good news with confidence!

    Any input will be appreciated!

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to see both and then make a choice, after all it's a pretty important decision, also I'm sure you can request a copy of your test results so you don't have to take them with you. If you don't want to tell the ob why you need the results tell them to sen a copy to your gp and then ask your gp to give you a copy. I had to go to a specialist and was given all my test results to take with me.
    And congratulations!!!

Id see both... I ended up going with the one with the earliest appoint, but just never felt 100% comfortable, so a week before the management fee was due, i ended up with a different doc altogether as the other one i had as my choices was then booked up. Glad i changed!!

Even if they were annoyed, who cares? It's not like you would see them around.
