Sl: our babies name will be Eliana Lucia. Fell in love with Eliana ages ago and then loved it even more once I looked up the meaning.

I just adore Eliana I actually came across it as i was searching for names by their meaning as I wanted something that represented a blessing, or miracle and the meaning of 'God has answered us' is absolutely perfect. It would be beautiful as a first name too but as mentioned before, we are using my MIL's name Rose, (even though her name is Rosa, which won't matter) so little Rose Eliana for us that's if we have a girl....

Grebbeci I have always loved Lucia too so god willing in the future if we have more children, and a girl, it will be high up on the list...

Well we didn't win the $45,000 Melbourne Cup trifecta yesterday, nor did we win the $100million last night (or one of the 4 $28million winners) so back to work today! My ticker is down to below 15 weeks which is absolutely insane! Only just over 5 weeks of that left at work...time is really starting to count down now!

I've been at my husband to book the painter in so I'll be on his back again today about that! We have decided not to go with a furniture package we saw and just buy furniture one piece at a time (so it won't necessarily be matching but all the same colour still). We managed to get a 4 shelf bookcase with a drawer for $112 yesterday so that's a good start! We have decided to go with the dark brown / walnut colour too, my DH pulled my leg on that one.

Next OB appointment in 1 weeks time so looking forward to hearing babies heart beating away again and also in 1 week time we start our classes at the hospital!

Hope you all have a good day and if, like me, you will most likely have a boring one, let's start a topic discussion on something!!

My question is something i think we have discussed but i missed....

Is everyone buying a "name brand" cot? Or is it ok to buy from ebay?

Wow this thread moves so fast. So many girls. Can someone up date the roll to say I have a blue one. William Geoffrey is his name. Both are my grandfathers as well as husbands father. First sons name is Benjamin so we think its funny we have a Bill and Ben (not that we want him called Bill either Will or William. Bill was my grandad and reminds me of an old man).

Fs said he is happy too put our 2 frozen bubs back so might have to think more about names when we see if the both take. Will be having Brianna Margaret if any are a girl.

I was going to go with a random cot, but I couldn't go past the Boori Sleigh Royale... so both my kids will be in the same bed!
good part is, we are getting the cot delivered tomorrow (fast hey!) and we are giving DS the new cot and just changing over mattresses so we don't have to dismantle his and put 2 back together! (nursery is upstairs where he is sleeping at the moment!)
sorry, i sure can write an essay!

Nictsa haven't really discussed that in particular. As much as we would like to buy a Boori (or some other 'brand name') we are most likely going to go for a cheaper one. My view is that as long is the cot abides by AUS/NZ current standards, is brand new, is labelled to say that it does abide to the standards and has non toxic paint that's all that matters - oh, and that it's sturdy. We have looked at both Quirky Bubba & Has Baby in Melbourne (both with eBay stores) which both have the 'sleigh' style cots we both like at a cheaper price. We are also looking at a 'Babyco' Roma cot currently on sale for $200. I like the idea of having the cots that convert but may be more important if we ever need to buy a second cot. For example if we have children close together and #1 is still in a cot, we can buy the cot that turns into a junior bed and utilise for #1 and use the 'cot only' for the new baby...

there are standards you can download for second hand cots too - as long as they have the AUS/NZ tick of approval and are in good working order they should be fine. There are a lot of cots on eBay - brand new ones - and Boori too for much cheaper - mostly in NSW I think though

Hope this helps. FYI Quirky Bubba & Has Baby have packages too
