We went with English Oak, which is a dark wood :-) Love it, we have set it up but can't wait to get it into the nursery.

Yeh I think I've always had the idea of having white 'innocent' baby furtniture - dark furniture seems too severe for a baby - but understand why people like it - my DH reckons it looks more elegant and expensive lol!

I think the dark has a better contrast with "baby" type colours where as with white it can get a little lost... does that make sense?

MY DH wants dark brown and I want white - how to solve this...lol?!
Dark brown furniture, and it's ok SL, apparently the weight on the hips, bums and thighs is your breast feeding stores, so hopefully (if you BF) it'll disappear pretty quick. My diet while BF last time was: coffee and toast, coffee and cake, sandwich, fruit and crackers, and a big tea, nearly everyday and I ended up smaller after BF than I was before getting pregnant! Hoping for the same luck this time!

Oooh well that sounds promising then hehe! God willing I will be able to breastfeed well. Not just for my weight loss benefits either lol! It must be said though that one of my girlfriends very quickly was smaller than her pre baby body weight!

It certainly does make sense and my DH is of this opinion which is why he wants darker furniture....I'll have to have a good think - sounds like everyone who has posted is going dark so far...

So, I bit the bullet and took out my piercings... A bit sad not to have the jewels, I guess it had to happen sooner or later!
