Is anyone stressing about their weight gain? I wasn't stressing until I jumped on the scales this morning and from the date of my egg pickup (because they weighed me on that day) until now (18 weeks tomorrow) I have put on 14KG!!!!! It's not a vain body issue thing that's concerning me - it's the health of my pregnancy and me and my baby! Last time I saw my OB he said not to worry about weight gain but seriously 14kg before I'm even half way sounds like a lot. Last OB appointment my blood pressure etc was fine

    I've lost 2 kgs!
not from trying - and it makes me worried for the opposite reason! I don't want baby to not grow big and strong
GD makes my eating very hard.. can't eat much therefore you don't gain weight!
if you are still a healthy weight I wouldn't worry too much
everyone is different and I'm sure your dr will tell you if you need to worry
    for now.. enjoy everything!
I miss pasta, bread, potatoes and rice

Hi SL - I was a little concerned with my weight gain. I gained 8kg's in the first 12 weeks, while I was on all the support medicines. I was so glad to get off those. I have gained another 2kg's in the last 10 weeks or so. I do not exercise, as I'm not allowed to, I would love to go for walks, I eat OK most of the time, although I have occasional sugar cravings. No one seemed concerned about my earlier weight gain, maybe your's will settle down, I know one thing for sure though, now is not the time to diet. I gained 18kg with my last bub, with heaps of water retention. With Breast Feeding, it only took about 2 months to loose the weight - then to have to have milk supplement drinks so I was having enough energy to make milk. Remember though, your blood supply has increased, you have the baby and placenta, most likely some water retention, bigger boobs... and also your body does store extra fat to get ready for milk production. I know I'm rambling and probably not much help... but I just try to eat healthy (most of the time), and not be concerned about the weight as long as you and bub is healthy. If you are really concerned though I'd mention it at your next check up. Sorry I'm not much help.

Check on that whether you are in the healthy range... I have only put on 3kg's since the beginning but that is because I couldna't afford to put on much... my OB doesn't want me to put on any at all, so I need to be loosing weight while the baby grows, so far so good, since 10weeks I have not put anything on but everyone is different... my Mum who was 60 at the start of her first pregnancy ended up at 112kg at the end, insane amount of weight which she knows now, back then you where told to eat for 2, when you really only need to eat 300calories extra a day... her last pregnancy (she had 7) she was 70kg's at the end... safe to say she learnt her lesson!

I have only put on about 2kg since the start. But same as Amy I have been told to try not to put any weight on. It's a PITA though trying not to put any weight on.
Amy - I have "ample padding" as well , (lovely way of putting it) I started feeling little flutters at night around 18 weeks and stronger ones around 20 weeks. Only this week (23 weeks) have I started to feel her from the outside, and only when she is high in my belly, still too much cushioning when she is sitting low.

Thanks everyone for your help - my boss and my SIL both put on 25kg with their first pregnancies - I guess it's different for everyone. I'll try not to think about it and maybe double check with my OB next time I see him. I have stepped up the exercise now that the weather is slowly getting warmer so been for a couple more longer walks and my first swim last week. I'm eating generally well - I could be eating better but also not stuffing myself with junk so I'm sure everything is fine - just another one of those pregnancy panics you go through.

On another note bubs must be growing heaps today - very crampy! All good signs : )

Thanks Meshell - I'm not keen on going on an exercise bike but after I went swimming my legs did feel heaps better. Will be doing yoga soon too. The only thing though it's not a specialised pregnancy yoga and I've never done it before - so I guess I just tell the instructor and she will advise what I do??

Oh weight gain, so annoying! Last time i checked i had put on 2kg since the beginning of my pregnancy....

But i havent checked again in the last week or so.

I am having a scan this week, cant wait as i still really havent felt bubs yet, I am 16 weeks 2 days, so hopefully its coming soon. I did feel some kind of "quickening" feeling as they call it last night, but cant be sure what it was

Work is doing my head in....

    Looking fwd to home time!

    Default IVF Babies Due Jan/Feb/Mar 2013 #3

Ive put on 4 kgs since finding out I was pregnant and 11 kgs from when I started my bcp to my bfp. I'm just really lucky that this baby makes me crave healthy stuff 99% of the time lol. I can't stand even looking at myself let alone taking photos which I know I will regret but I will make myself do a maternity shoot so I have something I will be happy to look back on I guess. I never wanted to be over 100kgs again but hello I'm back lol. I just keep telling myself that once this baby is out I can be more motivated to cut my portions down and exercise more. I've been getting pains in my hips like cramps from just going for a 20min stroll and I hate being on my feet for to long because I have troubles with them especially when I rolled my ankle at 12 weeks lmao it's still swollen and tender and I guess I'm going to have to get someone to look at it. 20 week scan in 2 days so excited!!!!! Haven't seen bub since the darling was 8 weeks. I think I have a cheeky one always kicking me in the bladder and jumping and squishing me making me almost pee myself. And very energetic just doesn't stop moving all day and night even waking me up in the middle of the night.
