    Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and would like to say congrats to everyone who has had a BFP! I've just finished my second course of clomid. Had no success after first course of 50mg so my specialist increased the dose to 100mg. Had an U/S on Tuesday and could see one apparently perfect size follicle! Had a trigger shot of ovidrel that night and was told I'd be ovulating Thursday morning. Has anyone else had success on 100mg clomid with trigger shot? I have been monitoring my temp but I'm not 100% sure that I have ovulated.
I'm not the most patient person in the world so these next couple of weeks are going to kill me. It's so disheartening to see a BFN and to know u have done exactly what the specialist has told u but it hasn't worked. I'm trying not to get my hopes up or stress too much about it.
If this round doesn't work I'll have to give robitussin a try!
    Good luck everyone

    Default Clomid Support thread #12

    Hi there, welcome.

I slowly made my way from 25 to 50 to 75 with no sign of anything, when the dr put me on 100mg I produced a good follicle. I had the trigger and blood test a week later to see if I O'd. I 'ovulated well' was written in the report. But BFN. So we repeated 2nd month. All the same. Had the trigger, confirmed O, BFN.

This month we were expecting the same, hopefully a different result in the end, but found out the 100mg didn't work this time. So he had me double my dose and come back. So I just finished taking 200mg a day and got the trigger on Tuesday. Fingers crossed this is it!

I agree, it is so frustrating to know exactly when you are going to O, do as the dr says, but still not get that BFP. And my dr says "intercourse tonight or tomorrow" as if it's that easy!

I agree with the frustration too! I got my hopes up last month when ultrasounds showed I o'd on my own and done everything but still no BFP My FS thought I might o on my own again this month but ultrasound on cd10 showed nothing happening so he put me on a late start of 25mg clomid to speed things up. This is my first time trying clomid so I'm a little worried we may just be wasting our time on such a low dose. It's so frustrating after doing everything right, losing weight just in case even though I'm in the healthy range, and trying not to get obsessed. What a rollercoaster!

Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice? I'm at a lose at the moment I'm angry and confused and I don't even know why I'm probably just over anlyising things.
We have been trying for 14 or so months, dp has problems with his sperm morphology is horrible a month ago he had %1 normal morphology this latest test was %0, his motility and count were up from the last test but still not great.

I got my 21day test results back too and I hadn't ovulated. He said we could try clomid and up our chances by making me ovulate and he said "I couldn't say for certain you won't get pregnant naturally with these results"(Dp's) so we were best to "try" clomid now and then we can say we have exhausted all our options.
Then he said we could go straight to ivf but its not likely we'll start a cycle before everything shuts down for Xmas.

So the FS said go clomid when there is no normal sperm and motility isn't great.
Is there even a point for us trying clomid?
He gave me a script for 50mg tablets taken on cd 5 - 9 and blood tests on cd21
He gave me paperwork for two cycles and a hcg test.
Im concerned that he didn't organize an ultrasound as well but then I think maybe he didn't think it was needed because there in not really a chance of getting pregnant

I feel it's a waste of time, dp is for it but as I said to him it's fine for you, you don't have to take the stuff! Ten I think well if we can't get into ivf now maybe we should just try and hang the expense, side effects, time, heart ache both months, tww etc. I honestly just don't want to get my bloody hopes up

I'm confused, also I need to have my rubella booster. I'm cdc19 now if I'm lucky i might be able to get the test tomorrow or Monday, they say waiting 28days afterwards but IF we get pregnant next month with clomid it would right on or a little over the 28 days. (Irregular cycles atm, so could be right on ovulation.)
Should I wait the extra month to TTC so there is no question of the rubella booster effecting a pregnancy, get the booster and take clomid with the chance of a pregnancy (but with the thought that this is a waste of time anyway) not get the booster at all. My levels were 28 and 30 is considered immune.
I'm so sorry if I sound like a big baby I'm just not feeling the good vibes about TTC today.

The clomid should make you 1) have somewhat regular cycles and ovulate and 2) more then likely increase the number of follicles you produce - which means that even though ur DH has a low count you'll have more of a chance on clomid then trying to go natural till you can start IVF. Most FS dont do ultrasounds of excessive blood tests, my FS has a clinic where i get all of my ultrasounds/blood tests done. Also i think it is important that if your cd21 shows that u haven't ovulated once you have started clomid to ask for an estrogen/lh/progesterone blood test aswell - as your body could be gearing up to ovualte (my first cycle of clomid i didn't O till cd24). Regarding the rubella booster - i thought you had to wait 3 months till you could ttc again? (i may be wrong)good luck with it all hun
Thanks TormyI think what i am most stressed out about is what this means emotionally Getting my hopes up, just to have them knocked down, I really thought he was going to say that we would go straight to IVF well ICSI really, and i was prepared for that emotionally, had it all set out in my silly head. (can you tell im a Taurus)I didn't really think about it like that, i was just thinking what's the point of ovulating if the sperm aren't up for the job. But maybe if i had been ovulating regularly we might have gotten pregnant all ready. FS said it's not impossible for Dp to get me pregnant but that as time passes it's less likely each time. The last 6 months Cycle wise have been all up and down, 9 days late, 12 days late, 5 early, period for 12 days when it should have been 5, 6 max. Everything i read tonight said the bare minimum is 28 days after the Vax. So pushing it close.
Maybe i need to recharge the TTC battery's? Have you had times like this? If so, how did you get that drive/hope back? Thank you again

Also with Clomid am i likely to release more the one egg? The Fs did not say anything about anything, what i have read tonight has scared me as well, side effects, multiple babies etc

    for Saturday

We've got 2 cycle of clomid left till my FS is going to book me in for a lap, so im really hoping that we can get the elusive bfp before then
I'm 8dpo too! Had BT yesterday but haven't got results yet. I caved and poas this morning, knew it was too early so not upset with the BFN. Will test again Saturday.

    Fx for us both!

I'm 9 dpo today and just did a pregnancy test but was BFN. My specialist didn't organize any blood tests tho to see if I did ovulate. Is that the normal practice for u girls? He just seemed extremely confident that I would ovulate 36 hrs after trigger shot. I just have this feeling that i'm not going to have any luck this round.
I do agree that the 12 months of not ovulating were more frustrating...especially when I knew there was something wrong but my GP kept insisting it was all due to stress!
Good luck girls with ur testing this morning! Hope u have better news than me

You're not out til AF arrives Tormy. Might still be to early.

I'm testing with BFN as well.

Emmyj my FS has had me do a blood test one week after my trigger everytime. He's a bit slow with results though. I had it done Tues and as of Fridays post still hadn't received my results in the mail.

I'm sorry Tormy. Don't give up yet though! I know how frustrating it is. Only difference with me was I started clomid after 3 months of not ovulating - I just knew something was wrong. The wait is so hard and defeating

Ijjies do you know if we definitely ovulate after a trigger? I thought so?

I'm 2dpo today after a trigger on Friday.... I'm hoping I o'd on Sunday at the latest because we stopped BDing....

    Any positive news out there?
