Thanks loveandlive, shelby and green fairy. I've read through many online forums but didn't really want to share my story. But now I feel so much better about things, I'm so glad I did it!

Green fairy, your story has given me hope to try the injectables! Did you conceive on the 5th round of injectables or after 2 rounds of clomid and 3 rounds of injectables?

Glad you're feeling more positive about it all, easy to say in hindsight i know but hang in there.

I got absolutely no movement in my follicles on clomid so the second cycle of that we rolled straight onto injections without a period, bfn. Two more cycles of injections, bfn, fourth cycle injections ended up with too many follicles so was cancelled, fifth cycle and last before Christmas and my lap to check for endo and other issues and got our BFP. Thankfully no dramas through the pregnancy so far and I'll be back for more injections in a heartbeat if need be for no. 2 and 3!

I was always keen to move to iui and try and speed things along but DP was adamant it's a process and we had to go through the steps and now obviously I'm thrilled we never spent any extra money and put ourselves through iui - def would have if we'd had sperm issues though.

I did try and maintain the positivity by considering every bfn one step closer to a BFP - fertility treatment is a numbers game and the more you go through the closer you get, your specialist will be learning more about you and your body every cycle - pos or neg.

I guess it all depends on your personal situation, how long you've been trying, age, finances, how your partner feels about it all, how much you think you can cope with? The other thing that scared me with IVF was that I felt it was almost the last step - what if you get there and it doesn't work? What then? I just wanted to try what I could before adding the extra level of financial stress that IVF would have been for us.

More stats on me - 26, DP 30. Off the pill 6 months to TTC and got no periods, gp diagnosed PCOS and referred to fs. 3 month wait to get in. Started treatment march 2012, 6 back to back cycles over 7 months and BFP oct 2012. I feel very lucky that I was pro active, that gp took my concerns seriously early on, that I didn't wait til I was already stressed out and miserable to start treatment and that everything worked out as well as it has. Fingers crossed for rest of my pregnancy, I'm currently 21 weeks.

Sorry for the epic but I always found it helpful reading other people's stories and hopefully I've helped in some small way. It is very tough to go through, it's like limbo land and you can't plan anything, only those that have been through that can understand. Wishing you all the best a BFP and bundle of joy very soon!!!

Just one other thing, if you've not had much testing yet that's a good way to break up the cycles and tick a few more boxes along the way. I got the hsg dye test to check for blocked tubes after 3 cycles and was actually booked in for my lap after the fifth, would have been 6th but we ran out of time to squeeze another cycle in.

I wouldn't spend anymore time on clomid and I'd give yourself maybe 6 cycles of injections with timed sex or iui (depending on progress and results?) before considering other options or doing more investigation.

I just wanted to progress things before I got too tired and sick of it all - which I was after all those months back to back without a break. Cycle I got my BFP I was in a good frame of mind cause I was just over it all, not expecting anything and just looking forward to the lap and 2/3 month break from treatment over Christmas. Was a big surprise when the test actually came back positive.

Thanks Green Fairy, and best of luck with your pregnancy!

Am waiting to hear from my doctor before hopefully starting injections on Monday.

But for today, I'll forget about it all and celebrate my birthday with some champagne and soft cheese!!
