Hi ladies. Had my bt & 1st scan today, 2nd is on Monday. I think all is ticking along as should?? I'm 8 days since starting injections. 2 small follies on left ovary (which as usual was very hard to visualise) and around 7 or 8 on right ovary, largest measuring between 9-10. They said they'll get more accurate measurements Monday but that it is likely I will cycle according to schedule plan with EPU weds & ET Friday. It's all jibberish to me lol. Do you guys remember what size your follies were at 8days into cycle/injecting? I (reluctantly) had to tell my boss at work today what was going on as it is clashing with some of my shifts, she was very supportive but I don't want to be messing them about to much, it's so hard waiting to see how everything goes before knowing when to take time off, same for hubby. Up until this point I've managed to swap shifts to cover all appointments but now that things can change so quickly it's a bit more difficult.
Re: left ovary, does anyone else have this problem? When I did clomid, I'm sure I had 2 follies left, nothing on right. That was July I think. But when I had my first scan with doctor at tfc (prior to cycling) they couldn't visualise the left at first, just a shadow & she said it may have been an endometrioma. Today the nurse finally found it but it was obscured by a shadow, possibly bowel. I know it's there , the FS before showed me it during scans & got photos during lap. What I'm wondering about...what if they can't find it on EPU day & there are mature follies on it that get missed?? Not likely as they were so small. But is it possible they can miss eggs & I could ovulate them as normal? Wouldn't that run the risk of falling pregnant naturally as well as via IVF?? Prob thinking too much. The doctor also mentioned, and I remember reading this somewhere myself... that as women age, it has been found that the right ovary ovulated more than left. Weird science huh!
anyway sorry for such a long post, just trying to forward plan. Oh, nearly forgot to ask...does hubby do semen sample same day as EPU??

    thanks for listening guys xxx

That's a really good response. I can't remember at all what mine were.
If guess if they miss any there could be a slight chance of natural fertilisation. Like you said, try not to over think it all. I heard that women produce more eggs from their dominant side, right handed, right ovary. For me this is true.
Yes, hubby does semen sample morning of EPU. You can ask for a specimen jar at your next scan to do it at home if he's more comfortable, DH did this. They will tell you the best time and how to look after it in transit. There's no way DH would be able to perform on cue in that big black chair :P

We stopped preventing when DS was 4 months but nothing, then 12 months ago I started really trying hard using opks plus temping and and we still havent had any luck . DH is a doc so he did BT's and a semen analysis and all is perfect. So onto a FS we go. Really disappointed and disheartened that we are in this boat.
Hey mumsical, I think taking the first step in reaching out to this clinic is a very positive step. I'm only on my first cycle so don't have any success to share, but there are plenty of success stories where tfc are concerned. All I can add is that having them take over my cycles has been like a weight lifted. I was going out of my mind charting, temping, opk's & disappointment month after month. Your in good hands! Good luck with your first appointment.

Hahaha, not the big black chair where bloods are done? Surely? I can't imagine having to do the deed in a room, with people buzzing about on the other side of the door. God, I never thought about that. I'll see what he says & ask about a spec container. I just worry with us being 20mins or so away.x

NO!! Ha the black comfy one down the hall! I live in Regents Park, I just had to keep it between my legs in the car to keep it at body temperature.

Now, guess what I'm going to be thinking about when I have my next blood test hahaha!!

Papillon, I was the same right ovary had 7 left had 3 was told that my right was the dominant which explained why I couldn't fall naturally as I had my right tube removed what bad luck hey ha ha anyway my right ovary was very hidden and hard to find at scans so epu was more difficult but they prescribed me endone as an extra pain killer in case they had to dig around but they did so well and found it easily on the day, I ended up with 10 eggs, hubby had to use the room with the black chair ha ha its the one next to the toilet not very inviting that's for sure but we had no choice as we are from the sunshine coast. But was all worth it, 3 eggs only fertilized but one little baby stuck and I'm 13 weeks. Its a hard emotional journey and you will feel like your losing your mind but I always kept in mind a peace knowing what will be will be, doesn't mean I didn't over analyse every little thing ha ha but you will be fine :-) I think first scan I was at around 8-10 mm so sounds good by second scan I was ready so my epu was moved earlier but just go with it xo sorry this is so long

That's so reassuring to hear Sarah. I thought my follicles sounded very small. Cripes, imagine I was to go earlier! I've just gone & swapped my shifts!!!

Hi everyone, I have a concern & the clinic is closed today. I'm due my scan + bloods on Monday morning...this is possibly the last day of injections. According to my plan it says "? last FSH & Antagonist". So I'm assuming I have to take the injections on this day & will be advised to continue or not according to how my blood work & scan goes. The problem is, I have only 1 more Antagonist. It will be used tomorrow. I have enough for 2 more FSH doses. What should I do? Not take the FSH on Monday?

    Hope someone can help.x
