Good luck Jen, hope its all gone ok

Im all finished and am home doing R&R
We were lucky enough to get 13 eggs.. Im still in shock about so many so hoping they are off getting very friendly with my hubby's contribution as we speak.
I was pretty nervous in the leadup but thankfully I feel ok. Im a bit sore but nothing quite as bad as I expected as Im comparing the pain to my lap surgery which was done about 3 months ago.

So its now fingers crossed time I guess & wait for tommorow for the big phone call to see how may are fertilised

Great to see you MrsErin.. The nicest thing people said to me on joining this thread is that we hope your journey is a short one so Ill extend you the same luck.

Vivre, think I'm following you round the boards!

22 follies and only 11 eggs! Hoping they are great quality and getting going as we speak. I'm not too sore, been for a walk and slept this arvo, not as much pain as last time!

Phone call tomorrow....... And so the wait begins!

I'm transferring day 3! So Thursday. They want to do this as I have only 3 envies they won't go to blasts. I am trying to stay positive as DS was only 3 fertilised and 2 put back and also not great quality so I try not to look too much into the grading. I can call the clinic tomorrow to see how they are doing but all I got today was how many had fertilised! A txt is lame though, a call really doesn't take much!
Good luck for tomorrow vivre! X

Just popped in to say transfer went well today and we transferred 1 grade 1 embryo.
FS thinks we have potentially 5 to freeze so that will be confirmed tommorow when we get that far. She is really happily with the quality with all of the eggs and the one today she said was as perfect as we would hoped for..
It was so strange seeing the embryo on the screen, it almost made it really real, if that makes any sense
Anyway off to read all the stuff about what Im supposed to do and not do for the next 2 weeks and pray for the time to go really quickly

    Hey girls,
Im so sorry I have been very busy, I wrote notes on each of our apts..

Dandenong the Fertility Centre low cost IVF:
Apt was with Dr Myran Ponnam-Palam he was great veryknowledgeable and if he didn’t know an answer to my questions he took notes and would research and then email me the answers. He suggested a cycle with Menopur(Luveris) this would help with egg quality, clexane and aspirin during 2ww; he was open to ideas but told me if he thought it wouldn’t be suitable for my case. They are affiliated with MIVF and thus transfers are completed at The Women’s and monitoring is done at Dandenong. They offer PGD through mivf. Majority of their transfers are 2 day ET, or 3 day ET after PGD is conducted. They believe that the embryo is better in the womb than the test tube, thus so many 2day ET. Another thing they said with low cost ivf they like to work with around 5 embryos, anything greater has an additional cost, and that usually there are no frosties unless you are willing to pay. They said it may be difficult to getl ow follicle numbers with me as my dosage is quite low already at 125 puregon. He suggested I go on DHEA, and that is not technically correct that women with PCOS don’t go on this, they just need to be monitored, he wasn’t convinced with melatonin, as mivf are currently doing research in this area.
When I asked about surgery he said I would have to go on awaiting list at RWH with the reproductive team, and that could be a few mths wait. He wanted DH to have another semen analysis and he took bloods from me.
He was quite complimentary of my old FS and said they have the best lab around blah blah blah, which makes me think they are either friends or that he looked up to old FS as a role model etc. Bulk bill is for all scans, BTS and specialist apts, you need to just pay for the meds, cycle etc

Monash IVF Apt with Lynn Burmeister: Lynn controlled the meeting from the start. I didn’t have to ask many questions as she led in the direction I was happy with.
She stated I needed to have exploratory surgery and discussed having a laparoscopy, curette and hysteroscopy. She discussed that I may have endo and that my tubes may be damaged/ inflamed that could be causing fluid to leak into the uterus. She said that she would clip my tubes if this was the case.
Cycle she would keep me on puregon, antagonist cycle, with clexane and crinone would be used in fresh transfer and pessaries in FET. She mentioned that VIT D is a must for men, as well as menevit.
DH would have a semen analysis and that we would use HA-ICSI, and for us to consider PGD SNP ARRAY testing. Although she did follow with saying this may not be needed as new clinic new techniques etc. She said if she saw the SA in 2005 she would have said it was borderline abnormal and would have discussed the results with us.
I mentioned my concern with having the numbers for PGD (as they test at Day 5)and she said women do cycles and just bank the embryos and with the snap freezing technique at Monash, they are able to then thaw to do testing once there are 8 embryos. You only pay once for the PGD testing.
She told DH to give up smoking, and wanted me to start metformin. She was very confident, and stated she believed it wouldn’t be hard to get me pregnant. She was also very strict in saying no TCM when stimming but acupuncture was fine.

Monash IVF Apt with Nick Lolatgis: Nick is a Greek man, who is abrupt, and to the point. He was hard to get info out of as he wanted to do some testing first and get the results. I persisted though as we wanted answers as we needed to make a decision on which FS we were going to go with.
I was upfront in saying we have 18mths for this to work and then we are stopping and moving on, so we want to go in all guns blazing.
He went through my BT and said I have antibodies that would be found in my uterus that can affect implantation and continuation of pregnancy.
He strongly believes I have NK cells (I do too) and would treat me with an intralpid (sp?) infusion through a drip two weeks before ETand then various times throughout 2ww and hopefully throughout the pregnancy.
He read out a list of drugs at his arsenal, that included:
    Melatonin
    figrastrim
    saizen
    estradil
    clexane
PET- pregnyl injections before ET and during 2ww
aspirin, there just the ones I can remember..

He would do a down reg cycle with the pill and Synarel and then puregon/ gonal f. Both DH and I would go on antibiotics too.
He wants to do exploratory surgery to check the ‘oven’ out as he said and do a biopsy for NK cells and to check the health of my lining on day21-28, hard to choose date due to unsure where my body is at with coming off a stim etc…
He wants DH to a semen analysis and depending on the result he may suggest HA-ICSI..
I have to check my glucose (fasting) and another of other tests, as well as my AMH. He said I have had majority of all the required BT’s that he would have done.
He discussed PGD testing but believes we shouldn’t have to go down this path yet, as he feels he should be able to find the answer, and it’s not like I have not fallen pregnant. He did say if we had 4 m/c with Monash IVF he would strongly encourage this, but doesn’t believe it is necessary yet. He said Monash IVF have the best lab in Victoria as they pinched the head scientist from Sydney.
It’s been a hard decision between Lynn and Nick but we feel we need things to be severely shaken and it’s time for radical and outside the box, so we are going to go with Nick.

He has told me for egg quality I need to be on the following one month before injections commence:
Coenzyme Q10 600 mg per day
Omega Fish Oil 1 gram per day
    Vitamin D 1000iu per day
Melatonin 4 mg per day through a compound pharmacy

A bit nervous as I ended up in hospital the last down reg cycle I did with migraines, but that was when I was having them weekly, they are more controlled now. So it’s an exciting time ahead!!

Tuesday I had a laproscopy, Hysterscopy, d & C and hydrotubation, Im a little sore today due to referred pain from the CO2 they put in, but I'll cope. FS said that i have a clean beautiful uterus and cervix but my tubes are blocked. He tried to push the dye through for the hydrotubation and they spasmed. He said IVF is my only option for pregnancy, thank christ otherwise I would have been seriously ****ed off at old clinic and FS. We see FS on Dec 3rd for my pathology results and main thing is to see if I have NK cells. DH is having more tests done too, so hopefully the only way is up now.
