Yeah I can't imagine the entitled thought process of "hey I'm going to cut my neighbours fence in two places so I cam use their land to store my vehicles"

As soon as i saw other peoples stuff on my property i wouldve just taken it. Let them think someone else had stolen it. And if they came to me asking about it i would say 'it got pinched? that sucks. although i noticed the fence was broken so theives must have gone through it!!' and when they say 'no we did that coz we were using your property i would say 'ah well theres a valuable lesson learnt hey! when are you fixing the fence?'

The fun part of "free items" sign cos you can just go "umm no I just put a sign on MY property.... not my fault it was in front of your ****.... btw fix my fence!"

They're lucky they didn't do it around here, they would probably be shot at. I can't imagine any of our neighbours doing that, either disrespectfully or cheekily without expecting a hide full of lead. We have a massive dam and our neighbour used to put his irrigation pump through to irrigate his crops..Dad would go down, throw it back through the fence. This went on for months, until once the pump was accidentally smashed into pieces and couldn't be used any more. Oh the things the people in the bush do. Cracks me up.

Can you get their stuff impounded/towed like when you see the signs at private businesses saying cars parked there and not using the business will be towed?

A legal way to p*** them off?

We ended up walking over to the block today while we were out walking. Our note is still where we left it, neighbors are obviously away for the weekend. We took photos.

I wrote a letter today expressing we arent happy with the matter at hand and asking them to remove their stuff within 7 days or legal action will be taken. I kindly reminded them that it is our land and advised them not to use it in future. will be posting the letter registered mail tomorrow.

I forgot to mention that we often do see this neighbour around town, we always stop and chat, he knows we own the block and he has never asked re using it. Seriously Dh and I are furious over the cheek! No respect or courteousy what so ever.

I know you are angry and so would I be in that situation....and knowing them makes it worse.

Do you think that they genuinley assumed it would be ok since they knew you? Maybe they honestly thought it would be ok and you wouldnt mind.

Now they are having a letter saying that legal action is going to be taken.

If I thought I could do something and then I was handed a letter saying legal action was going to be taken I would be upset...especially if I knew the people. I would wonder why they didnt come and talk to me first.

yes they did the wrong thing but as you know these people do you think maybe talking to them first would help?

If it were me I would speak with them first...ask them to remove the stuff and if they didnt do it then I would invoke the 'legal action'. I suppose I would give them the benefit of the doubt.

    Just sayin is all.....

I'd do the same just so it wouldn't be so awkward when you run into them. Bring out the more strongly worded letter if they haven't moved their stuff.
