Might get DF to buy me ingredients so I can make a small one to devour all by myself tonight when the kids are asleep.

Hi I do a yummy trifle at Xmas time.. White chocolate & raspberry trifle.soooo good! You gently heat the custard & melt white chocolate through it. Layer as usual & add raspberries on top of the custard.

I LOVE trifle! to me it's a mix of a few different desserts all mixed in one, so it's a bonus.. plus if you want to add alcohol to it, gives it a different flavour!!

i have tried a blackforest trifle, a friend of ours made one, and he did such a good job, i couldn't believe he made it himself! lol. he even made their wedding cake.. you would never guess.

I make rasberry jelly(froxen raspberries, water, sugar, gelatine) and set it in the bottom of the bowl. I then make a vanilla sponge, cut it into squares and put it on top of the SET jelly (i hate the texture of soggy cake and jelly). I then make a cream anglaise and put that over the sponge. Then some fresh raspberries (strawberries if raspberries are out of season). Then whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top.

BTW, if i use strawberries rather than raspberries, i make strawberry jelly.

hey ladies. was searching the web for triffle recipes and found this.....

jusst wanted to ask how you would make it without the alcohol but using the essense instead of using fruit juice or jelly to soak the sponge.

ive soaked sponge cake in rum essence before but can remember what i did..... help

mum used to make it with alcohol and i loved it. dh wont let me use alcohol as his mum never made it with that (she is a minister s no alcohol in her house) so he has been ruined and wont try one with alcohol lol i love triffle and always had it at christmas time. so really really wanting to make one

I would just add the essence the same way you would add alcohol.

I make this too but use normal custard, not so sickly sweet.

    Hate them with sherry flavouring
