    Default FET and breast feeding

Has anyone been able to do a FET cycle while breast feeding?

Sorry I'm not sure what the answer is but subbing as I want to know this too as I will soon be in the same boat as we try for no 2. I'm hoping to breastfeed for as long as possible!

I'll bump it for ya too

I would think it might depend on whether it's a medicated or natural FET.

When I did my medicated FET, I used
Progynova and estrogen patches. Perhaps google those and read the pamphlet to see if it mentions anything about breastfeeding? I know you can't on a stim cycle but those drugs are quite different.

I'll have a look in my fridge to see if I still have any leftover drugs and see what they say

I bf while I did a medicated fresh stim cycle.
I was on puregon and orgalutran. I pumped and dumped while I used orgalutran and fed bub ebm or formula. Puregon was ok for lactation.

Have a chat with your fs. If it is absolutely non medicated, then there is no issue with you continuing bfing.
If medicated, you just need to check and they may need to tweak it for you.

    Hth.

    Thanks ladies.

I did a medicated FET last time which resulted in DS. I was on a lot of different medications. Suppose I need to research and see if they are ok to take while BFing.

Btw, my fs was really pro keeping me bfing as long as possible if I wanted.
She didn't want me to regret stopping just to try for number 2, and then fail and have stopped bfing for "nothing" for lack of a better word. One less thing to feel guilty about and grieve over, if my cycles failed.
As you can see from me signature I was lucky and got number 2, so all the hassle if pumping and dumping etc was worth it.

My progynova and progesterone pessaries say they can't be used while breastfeeding.

So a natural FET would be the only way to go I think.

My clinic told mme to stop breast feeding a couple of months before I did a full stim I had a fresh transfer though. Best to ask your fs what she recommends.

There was a really good podcast about ivf and breastfeeding on the ABA website. Unfortunately I'm on my phone so can't paste the link here but I'm sure you'd find it pretty easy on the site. It taught me a lot. I'm on clomid now but will need to move to ivf soon and I'm not keen to wean before my bub is ready. Probably never!
