MrsErinR, sorry to hear it isn't looking good this month. We've had so much good luck on here lately but of course statistically we're all aware that it might take a couple of tries (and that at any time we can be back to square one) and I'm sorry that you seem to be missing out this month. I'm glad you feel a bit more positive and are ready to front up again after the silly season. I feel completely bummed for you but will be sending every positive thought your way so that you're ready for the next round! In the meantime... if you really do find yourself out, I officially designate my usual festive wine to you!!!

Sorry you're also out, Kazza! I had a look at your chart, and to me it looks like O was probably around CD16. FF isn't always 100%, but it's a great tool nonetheless. What a great luteal phase length - that's awesome! My phase length was hard to pinpoint exactly this cycle - lots of carrying on and stopping and starting before AF properly kicked in - but closer to 11 or 12 days. I did at least O, though - got a progesterone reading of 44 at 7 dpo! It's good to know that part is working properly.

After a day or two of self-pity at the start of the week, I'm back to feeling more positive again. On Monday I got hold of a referral for the FS, and rather than being dismissive or telling me to stop being melodramatic or to wait, my GP was actually really supportive of me making the FS appointment for Feb. Her rationale is that anything that makes me feel more calm can only be good for my fertility. (And she probably didn't want me to cry in her office again!)

I'm also feeling a lot more optimistic because we have a holiday on the cards. On a bit of an impulse, a couple of nights ago we booked flights to Auckland over the new year. We've booked the holiday to coincide with O next cycle, so hoping for some holiday magic. I'm absolutely looking forward to a relaxing 10 days, but even more wonderful is the fact that I now have a topic other than TTC to obsess over. Instead of spending my spare time (and far too much time at work) googling conception-related topics, I'm googling hotels and itineraries instead. It's a relief!

I'm sorry that the IVF hasn't worked for you this cycle, MrsErinR. If it's any consolation, I'll be taking the opportunity to enjoy some "Christmas spirits" (bring on the Baileys!) too. (Given that so many babies seem to be conceived with the aid of alcohol, maybe it'll be a lucky natural cycle for us all!)

Glad to hear the positive attitude Gentoo
I know exactly what you mean about TTC being the sole source of all your thoughts and a holiday is a fab way to definitely take you mind off it.
Lets hope the Christmas spirit is well and truly with you

Im sorry MrsErin, glad to hear that you are also in a good state of mind. Best of luck for Jan and cant wait to hear you positive result. My IVF group have a saying - its all about the numbers so its going to happen, it just depends on when

Kazza id love to give advice on FF but in the end I thought it did more mental damage to my sanity than anything else but I did use it for about 13 months
Hope you have a better result

Go Gentoo! It sounds like you're making some good positive decisions and I'm glad your GP was supportive. The holiday sounds fabulous and what a great time of year to go!! Enjoy the break from TTC thoughts and relish the planning, I love that part of a holiday!

How's everyone going this Monday? MrsErinR, hope you're okay.

Gentoo fingers crossed for your holiday! I think/hope 2013 will be a positive year for us all...AF hasn't arrived and I now 17DPO. I know I am not pregnant (we didn't try during O period as hubby wanted to wait one full cycle as reccomended) but am getting concerned. Last week I had major PMS symptoms but I haven't had any of the usual symptoms I get in the days immediately leading up to AF. I would go see my gyno but with the relocation in early Jan and his clinic closing in Dec for a month he advised that I should make an appointment for a specialist in Canberra for the new year, which I did today (just to cover all my bases). I have my fingers crossed that I won't need it but want to have all bases covered. Yesterday was the one month anniversary of the day we found out our pregnancy was over. It was a very hard day but today I have woken up with renewed energy to get our baby anyway we can as soon as we can.

How is everyone else travelling today?

Well today I have kicked myself in the butt and started a regime of healthy eating. I have once again kicked alchol and caffine to the curb. I figured I need to get my body into the best shape possible to sustain a pregnancy to term and while I happily gave those things up when pregnant I have slipped back into the nightly glass of wine with dinner and the odd glass of cola. I was going to wait til the next TWW to give them up as they both offered some solace over the last month but I thought AF might come earlier if I get rid of the unnecessary toxins....I hope everyone else is travelling well....Has anyone started their christmas shopping? I have been putting it off but I have promised myself I will tackle it this weekend.

Good for you, Debstar! It's great that you're getting into shape for TTC again - it's a really positive step. I'm getting a bit lax and really need to reign myself back in, having succumbed a few times to the lure of a diet pepsi or a glass of wine (or three). Christmas makes it hard to be 100% good, so I'm aiming for "mostly good" instead!

My Xmas shopping hasn't gotten very far (not that we buy gifts for many people). I went out last Sunday and ended up buying shoes, a dress and some lingerie (can never have too many sexy mightiest when trying to make a week-long marathon of BDing seem exciting) for myself instead.

How are you both going, NAT and Vivre? Are your scans soon?
