gosh we have really had a lot of ups and downs this week... seems we are more down than up... its hard work being a reproductive geriatric and we are certainly a very strong group for it all... so everyone give yourself a hug and say how wonderful and strong you are...

jodiW...so sorry to hear that you had a BFN... I know that you had your hopes on this one and it was a big task... lets it all out rage, break a few plates and then sit down with some wine and something bad for you... big hugs

wanabeamum.... Im so sorry to hear how hard it is for you... I keep dreaming I will win lotto so I can have $$ to keep cycling with my own eggs and do PGD...one can only dream, Im not sure how old you are but if you are under 43 you can cycle with westmead fertility centre in sydney - based out of westmead hospital. They have great success rates and it costs $300-800 only per ICSI cycle.... which is a huge difference....also any egg freezing is free...they have a web site so worth thinking about.

DJ-- oh after a year of solid TTC I am so with you on those thoughts.... enjoy NYE. I know that in sydney fertility first will take you on as a 45yr old and cycle with your own eggs... I have a friend doing just that... I went with them for my first 3 cycles...which did get me arabella.... you dont see the FS much its all nurse initiated... might be worth thinking about if you want to try again. Enjoy christmas and being a mummy...xxx

Fortitude...woohoo on cycling when do you start...??? and yep love the prednisone... Im sure it helped me get pregnant with my DD.

tens... oh so sorry to hear about the embies...poor darlings.. will you put them in?? you still have a chance...
Isnt it a pain that money dictates our familys... I think about how much I have spent this year and it would have paid off my mortgage...sigh...

babydoctor....hope your DD is feeling better and you are back and running at top speed

    MrsErin.
..hope you are feeling a little better and looking forward to the positives of christmas and bubbles to drink,,

Kenta...I hope everything goes well for you today

golilocks... I have to laugh at the imagery... and I get carsick in the back of an ambulance..lol..lol... Im not sure where you are on your egg growing but I hope your next scan is a great one...

Fingers...that sounds good... lets hope that this little embie is going to stick.. if you are worried about estrogen being low maybe ask your FS about both estrogen and progesterone luteal support.

sorry if I missed anyone... Im at work..so its a very quick chat

well I have been so busy...with work, illness, life a toddler and ivf its a little overwhelming at times... harder still when its just you...
Im on the train now......toot toot... started menopur last night... boy does it sting... lets hope that the LH makes all the difference... certainly having an LH of 0 is so not good for egg quality as I had in my last cycles.. I want to keep it above 2.. maybe baby doctor do you have any thoughts on where LH levels should be for us oldies... I know its tricky as too much is as bad as too little. So if it all goes well in 11 days Ill be triggering...wow...
anyway back to earning those $$ to pay for ivf ..

    What does predisone do?
Also, not concerned about low estrogen, that's just what the nurse said, it wa expected to be that level on day 10

Hi ladies I ended up going thru the transfer but the exact words of the 2 embryologist (1 who was 30 wks pg) not to hold out much hope they dont like the look of them.... I looked like a complete tool because I burst into tears then sobs then more tears when they finished and said their half hearted "goodluck".
When i got to the car park some idiot had blocked me in and I had a big hissy fit like a 2 yr old....I felt so ashamed but had no control of my emotions...

My only upside is the fact they are not my embryos so cant blame myself for them not progressing....
On the way home I called into a craft shop and was looking at baby bootee's as you do when I asked if I was pregnant (cause I look it) I said yes with boy girl twins and therefore purchased 1 pink and 1 blue pair of bootees god it felt good even if it was a porky it was harmless but felt fantastic to just be congratulated for once instead of the "oh" naughty hey.

micca as always you always know the right things to say..thanks.Good luck with this cycle pretty sure your time is due hey.

    fingerscrossed goodluck with this cycle..

kenya how did you go today?

Hi to every1 else and my apoligise for my dark mood hope you all understand after 5 years and 9 cycles it doesnt get any easier ...

    Hi ladies,
thank you for all the support.

micca you are so warm and encouraging. what kind of cycle are you doing? when are you using the luveris?

tens I'm so sorry. It's so hard when it's so out of our control.

fort - I've been taking prednisone on my own as my FS was not keen on it but after 4 failed transfers felt needed every assistance as long as it wasn't harmful. How long are you going to take prednisone for?

thank you all again for your warm support.

AFM our frozen blast survived the thaw and transfer went well. As I'm doing a natural cycle, FS said I didn't need any supports but I'm thinking of taking some left over progesterone that I have. Had accupuncture today and watched a chickflick at home today so feeling as relaxed as I can. Can't believe how apprehensive I had been this cycle waiting. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to improve implantation after a natural cycle frozen transfer? If this doesn't work we don't have any more embryos.

Oh it's been hard to read all the updates this past day or so...

My heart goes out to you all who have received bad news

JodiW - sorry to read of your negative result - I'm thinking of you and all the best to you and your DP.

MrsErinR - I was really sorry to read of your negative as well - I had my fingers doublecrossed for you as we were EPU buddies.

    Wanabe
    - You're having a hard time of it too - I think we can all relate to the financial pressures of IVF but it never gets any easier. I really hope you can work something out.

Welcome Wagonwheel - I'm sure you'll find this thread as supportive as I have.

Babydoctor - I hope you're feeling better and your son too.
Goldielocks I had a bit of a laugh at your story! I had a similar experience a few months ago driving an author around Melbourne. Not a good look! You got some great numbers there - how are you going now?

Micca - hello to you. What type of cycle are you doing? Antagonist? Here's wishing you all the best. I hope this is the one.

AFM - not too much to report - I finally got tested for Ureaplasma today and should get the results on Tues. Saw a lovely new doctor who specialises in home birth - here's hoping I need his services soon! Waiting to ovulate (I'm on an old school natural cycle this month) hopefully it's not too far away.

Hello to anyone I've missed! There was a lot of catching up to do.

    Em x

kenta ....Im glad things thawed well...lets hope that blast implants.
prednisone is fabulous and can make all the difference...it helps with stopping immune caused implantation failure.... the protocols on how much differ with every FS and run from 10mg-50mg a day. The colarado protocol uses 25mg for 6 days after ovulation, In the UK they use 50mg..
I personally take 25mg for 7 days from about 2dpo through to 9dpo. then do 12.5mg for another 5 days until beta..
if you are not on aspirin 100mg it can help and well.... and good thinking on the progesterone suppositories... if you took 2 a day that would really help your lining and there is some thought that it can do subtle changes to the lining to aid implantation. also if you are not on vitD Id start taking it at 2000iu a day as this can help with implantation.

tens... Im glad you went through with the transfer.. honestly you just never know what the embies do... sometimes they are just stunned after the thaw and can take a little while to pick up. My cycle in april was a shocker and I had a 4cell put in at day 3... and wrote the cycle off... hey I drank coffee, ate junkfood even had a pepsi... and the embie actually took... it ended up in a chemical..but hey old eggs what can I say... so with some younger donor eggs you still may have a chance... But Id just live the 2weeks as if it wont work... get out and enjoy the christmas cheer and parties.. the odd glass of wine/ bubbles probably wont do any harm... consider most babies are often concieved in a haze of alchohol while on holiday or at christmas/new year (all us virgos..lol)
I love your little porky... just enjoy that little moment.. it will happen... if you are committed it may happen..maybe not in aus but it will happen... I had bought all sorts of little baby items prior to my pregnancy.. that I had collected over many years... never honestly thought I would use it and my excuse was always that I could give it as a present..... and now here I am.

emski.... we cross posted... Im doing a long down regulation protocol..so Ive been injecting for ever... well it seems like it... lets hope your cycle au natruale... works

menopur... day 2.... OUCH !! stings for about 10mins after.. kenta..the menopur is FSH +LH in the solution so it is an alternative to gonalF + luveris and for me much cheaper and the menopur is now in the free ivf drug list. Its the first time I have used it so Im hoping that it goes well.
well better go and make a cuppa and inject the saizen..
