I havent been around for a while as I had to drop everything and head to Singapore for work. I am still heading back to Sydney for my next meeting with my potential new IVF specialist and regardless of this disruption I am determined to go ahead with an ivf cycle in December!!!! The only thing that would stop me is a terrible bout of thrush that I have had since I have been here. The local dr gave me a medication called itraconazole that i just looked up on the internet which says that you should not try to become pregnant for 2 months after you have taken it. Disaster for my december plans perhaps?
woohoo wanabe.. make a list of everything... the kitchen sink protocol and ask about menopur you may benefit from it... Im using it this cycle its great for us oldies as it has LH in the mix.
I would not take that drug personally. I would go and some fluconazole from the chemist... one off tab which is ok.. or if you are worried a 6 day course of cannestin up the wahoo...
Cant wait to hear how you go...

    Hi Ladies,

Sunny - you have a great attitude - enjoy your leave and your week 'off'.

MinnieP - welcome... I'm new too but have been lurking and reading this thread for about a year.

Babydoctor I hope you're feeling better.

DjShears - I'm wondering if you are at the same clinic as me with my old FS? I got absolutely no follow up with him either after failed cycles...in the end that was a lot of what made me move to another FS (she apparently calls you after transfer to see how things are going - not the nurses!) who would have thunk it huh? That and along with the fact that I didn't agree with how my last cycle was handled. I had the funny experience last week where I was in the clinic filling out a form and the FS I dumped came in - he saw me and got all flustered and proceeded to stumble and knock a vase on the ground smashing it to bits. I figured they would be used to people chopping and changing specialists but maybe not... or maybe he's just clumsy?

Hi Micca, Wanabe, and all the other ladies

    AFM
I had my first scan today and it looks like things have advanced quicker than usual - I had about 9 follies all up and one at about 23 so I quickly was given Orgalutan injection in the office to stop me ovulating. EPU is on for Friday - FS says there may not be as many eggs as my previous attempts (last EPU on a Down Reg I got 19 but a lot of them were crap). Triggering tonight and have rearranged my whole Friday (I had meetings with interstate speakers attending so not that easy to do!) so it's all systems go. Here we go again!

    Em x

    Default IVF over 40 #5

    Hi everyone.

I've been reading along but so busy at work and outside with all this IVF stuff that it's hard to stay on top of it all! Anyway, latest from me is that I had 11 follicles at my scan yesterday morning, largest 19mm, and I'm headed into EPU on Friday morning. Yay finally!

Just did my Synarel trigger. That was awful!

Hope everyone is going along well, wherever you are in the process.

emski... great scan... lets hope those follies behave themselves and have some lovely eggies in them... enjoy your injection free days and good luck tomorrow at your pick up

    MrsErin
... woohoo to you too... good luck with your pick up tomorrow...seems you and emski are cycle buddies to the day.

    DJ.
.. hang in there I had no symptoms with my pregnancy with DD...I was so convinced it was a bust at 14dpo that I had a cup of real coffee and made an appointment with a new FS for my next cycle... to get a bfp was gobsmaking..lol.. thinking positive thoughts for you..

    Sunny.
.. I hope you are sitting back chilling with a glass of wine in your hand as I type...

well life continues... got all my drugs sorted so we are moving forward... now just a matter of trying to eat healthier... been good... eating only teeny tiny amounts of gluten..so I hope that it helps... still having my green smoothies daily and I am trying to exercise a lot more.

Just saying hello and keeping in touch with the thread. Not doing anything except waiting for some donor embryos. Good luck erin and emsky with your EPUs. Best wishes to everyone else cycling, waiting, recuperating.

    Default IVF over 40 #5

    Hi everyone,

Good to hear some good follicle results happening. Fingers crossed for all those cycling that we get some BFPs happening. My nurse called Monday and we had a nice chat about my cancelled cycle. Am feeling that it is worth doing another cycle. I see my FS in 3 weeks so will see what he has to say about it.

For those who have had disappointment, hugs to you. I am finding it a new experience to not be able to control how I want this journey to go. We all deserve our fairy tale ending - keep the faith that it will come. Positive thoughts to all.

    Cheers Beetle

No eggs at EPU today which was pretty devastating after having ok numbers for my age on my previous two attempts. What made it even worse was the woman in the next cubicle saying 'imagine if you got no eggs, how bad would that be?" and "what would you do if you got no eggs!" I felt like saying 'well open the curtain and I'll tell you!'.

Erin I hope you knock it out of the park for the both of us xx
