Sunny - I was really sorry to read your news.

Babydoctor - I tried PMing you - hopefully it got through! You've had quite a ride yourself. But I'm glad we have a FS like you on our side. Where in Aus are you located?

JodiW - thank you for the well wishes. So far so good. Scan tomorrow at 8am. Why did you wind up in intensive care last time? Was it OHSS? Are you doing a medicated FET? Sorry if you've mentioned this but I'm finding this a very active thread. Good luck for your scans.

DJShears - I have everything crossed for your blood test.

    Em x

    Hi,
Does anyone mind if I join this thread? I have just started my first IVF. Antagonist cycle, up to Day 5, have been taking cq10 for about a year and DHEA for 3 months. Briefly, I am very lucky as I already have three beautiful boys but had two miscarriages last year. Fell pregnant naturally both times, was 44 and 45. Devastated when i lost both at 9 weeks, made me realise I should have tried seriously years ago to have one last child. So tried acupuncture, drank the herbs, ate super healthy, gave up coffee, cut down alcohol, had sex when we were supposed to, but nothing worked. Decided to have one go at IVF with my own ancient eggs, just to be able to know we gave it our best shot. You never know, someone has to be the 1% !
Good luck to everyone trying to conceive, I wish you all the very best on your IVF journey!

if it was me I would be saving my money and looking at an overseas donor egg.. either africa or the USA... at least you will be getting good quality 20yr old eggs.. Id also line up a lipoidal flush and endometrial biopsy...check for NK cells. and do the protocol to the max... clexane, aspirin, prednisone.
but take time out... binge on comfort food drink way too much wine and dont do anything until next year...
I was so hopeful for you ..I feel crushed for your BFN... big hugs
Hi Micca...just to clarify your comment regarding the lipoidal flush and endometrial biopsy....you do mean at day 21 before my next IVF cycle, dont you? Or do you mean have one regardless?

Had my cry….AND woke up with a red wine headache this morning!!! Thank you all for your beautiful comments. Had my nose firmly in the laptop last night….well, when I wasn’t stuffing my face with comfort food (and wine)!! Researching overseas donor programs and also the different IVF protocols being used internationally….very interesting.

I have 6 weeks holidays starting on Friday.…my boss made me take at least 4 weeks, as I am way over excess leave! I plan to ‘play’ for the next week….eat, drink and be merry and then back on the health kick. DP and I have decided to have our follow up appointment with FS and ask him point blank, in his opinion, why didn’t this cycle work? I am also going to organise NK cell testing (thanks Micca).

Plans are starting to form….not going to keep me down for too long….gotta get up, moving and proactive for our long desired child.

sunny....... sounds like a great plan.... what about a nice getaway in noosa for a week...walks along the beach nice food and increase that vit D and just forget ivf for a small moment in time
The lipoidal flush and biopsy is done the cycle prior to start ivf.. so yes day 21 of the prior cycle...if you do a long down reg it would be the time you start lucrin.

    babydoctor.
.. I PMed you as well

MinnieP ...welcome to this exclusive reproductive geriatrics group....sounds like you have prepared well,,,if you are going to do a single cycle then make sure you throw the kitchen sink in it... clexane, prednisone, aspirin, endometrial biopsy etc.

    DJ.
... fingers crossed for your blood test xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi girls..... I feel absolutely Zip, Diddly-squat, nothing. I know people say you can be pregnant and have no symptoms but I know how I felt the last 2 times I got a BFP.....I know I won't get one this time around.

One frosty left......and I am getting more and more peeved at my clinic the more I think about them. Then, I get cranky at myself for not being better informed and wiser along this ivf road.

After a 12w mc and a blighted ovum and a transfer. I have had one 5 minute appointment with the FS and that was 10mins after the scan with the B Ovum. All other contact with the clinic is only via a nurse. I feel right about now that irrespective of not having a viable pregnancy so far, I really didn't get much bang for my buck (so to speak!). Almost feeling like a trip to Coles Deli, take a number and wait your turn. Join the queue and don't expect any personalised treatment. Thought I may be simply bitter, twisted and emotional, but no, I'm not. Even after the B Ovum, there was no offer of support. I ended up going to another clinic for the D&C and received a lot of care. They offered me counselling, brochures to read, a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear. I remember the gynae being such a beautifully kind lady that was sympathetic genuinely. I wish I had received just a little level of concern from my FS.
We have choices I know. The next choice I have to make is what I am going to do with my last little frosty and how am I going to ensure that I am given every opportunity physically for that to develop. Thinking I am going to research other clinics.
Sorry being a cranky-pants but I am feeling really disappointed. I read about things on this forum that my FS has never mentioned to me. Anyone got any suggestions?

    Hi everyone!

Just thought I would pop in to say hello

I havent been around for a while as I had to drop everything and head to Singapore for work. I am still heading back to Sydney for my next meeting with my potential new IVF specialist and regardless of this disruption I am determined to go ahead with an ivf cycle in December!!!! The only thing that would stop me is a terrible bout of thrush that I have had since I have been here. The local dr gave me a medication called itraconazole that i just looked up on the internet which says that you should not try to become pregnant for 2 months after you have taken it. Disaster for my december plans perhaps?
