Hi everyone I have been away for ages. And oh boy, have I missed a lot!!! I’ve tried to go back and read quite a few pages but please excuse me if I miss something or someone as I am sure I will...

Congrats to roma for the birth of your son – he just snuck into 2012!! Congrats traveler on the arrival of your baby girl!! What wonderful news that now your family is complete !
Congrats to Lillac, Bella, TTHC, Nat for being UTD!!! Hope I haven’t left anyone out.

Quartz, congrats on having your baby boy come home finally! You must be so thrilled! How are you surviving having both of them??

Sorry peonies on AF coming I think its wonderful you found a donor and are trying AI. Fingers crossed the next month brings you a BFP!

AFM and why I went MIA, as some of you might recall, the last BFN was hard and we took a break in April and went down the acupuncture path and healthy eating etc. Lost weight, felt better. Was ready to try again around June/ July but acupuncturist said I wasn’t ready and needed a couple more months to get healthier & improve immune system (when I get a virus my body doesn’t fight it well and the cold turns severe). Aug we decided to move to Perth for a while, as my Dad is 80 and I started thinking last year he is going to die soon, and he also has Parkinsons so is quite frail. Sept/ Oct were a mad blur of painting, making house presentable, decluttering and packing. DH and I moved to Perth in Nov. Plan is for two years (we kept our house in Sydney and are renting it out). Found a house to rent. Got a part time job and plan to stay part time to be less stressed and have time to do IVF. Now looking for a new clinic in Perth. I have to say, reading all these pregnancies and births is wonderful, I am so happy for all you ladies. And you are all so inspiring, each of you persevering on the difficult, tearful, sometimes painful journey that is IVF. You and your stories of your pregnancies have inspired me even more to get back on the IVF track. I think I've been a bit in denial and hoping for a natural miracle but it hasn’t happened and I need to start another cycle again soon. Just before we left Syd I got tested (Dr Sacks) for NK cells and luckily I don’t have them. Perhaps just need to do more cycles. Plan to ask for a HyCo Sy test. Don’t know why FS in Syd hadn’t ordered that test for me.

    Crofty, ages ago you wrote:
Paddlegirl – how’s your herbs and acu going? DH and I have tried the natural way for the last 4 months, no success so we’re back on the IVF road again....
(Dont know why the reply with quote function doesnt work). hey Crofty yeah same here, we did the natural/ acu/ herbs thing from about April till it went out the window when we moved to Perth. But his last SA wasnt that much improved actually. I dont think the stress we had in Sept/ Oct packing and moving helped either. Since Nov we've slipped on the diet and not been exercising , so we really need to get back on track and also find an acupuncturist here. I really miss my acu in Sydney though...

I saw from a more recent post of yours that you're having NK cells tested. Have you seen the RI that Nat and Bella have been seeing? isnt it funny how some Drs dont really pay much attention to NK cells and others do. Such a controversial area.... Good luck with that and hope this direction provides some answers and tweaking

    SimpsonDesert:
Paddlegirl- All the best for your move to Perth! Being there for your Dad will mean so much to him. I hope you have the chance to tell him he'll be a grandfather very soon
Simpson Desert, thanks for the good wishes. the move itself was stressful coz we are such hoarders and had to sort through so much junk!! But so far I am enjoying being here (loving the easier traffic, not so much the hot weather, although Sydney has had its share of it too!). My Mum and Dad are totally chuffed about our being here, and yeah it would really make my Dad so happy if he became a grandfather once more!!!

How are you going? Sounds like you are really enjoying life and having a ball ticking those things off your bucket list!

Paddlegirl - Welcome back, and WOW sounds like such a whirlwind. Good to keep busy though, it'll keep your mind off things (for a little while anyway). I know nothing about Perth unfortunately so can't recommend any clinics. With the NK cell testing, did you have the BT or the biopsy? Only asking as you can have a negative BT, but still have active NK cells in your uterus.

Welcome back paddle girl!!! Wow congrats on the move to WA!!! My mums side are all from WA a most are still there, live a long healthy life over the west, must be those sea breezes and late arvo westerlies both my mums parents lived til they were 98 & 99 respectively

Yeah, I went to the famous Dr M that Nat and Bella put me onto, I will owe them and bubhub community a lifetime of praise and hugs if we get our loooong awaited BFP - DHS and I aren't getting any younger both 38 this yr!!! And will be our 10 yr anniversary that we've been together. I have a biopsy to see the damage of how high my NK cells and t-regulatory cells are and dr M went through the results of all my previous BTs and picked up I also have the MTFHR gene (which my FS hasn't explained to me before and actually tested me for it??? I wonder why she didn't think it was significant enough to treat???) especially when this certainly can effect implantation????

Anyway enough about me, just wanted to welcome you back and thank you for thinking of me a lets hope the great news keeps on flowing on this thread xoxo Crofty

Crofty - I've got the MTHFR gene mutation too, I'm homozygous which means I have an exact copy of a gene. It affects the way my body processes folic acid. So I treat that with a high dose of folate. 10 times the normal recommended dose. 5mg, its called Megafol.

Traveller - Huge congratulations to you. A baby girl, how lovely! Hope you are enjoying every moment!

    Paddle girl - Welcome back!

Sorry it's short - having 2 is so full on!! Starting to wonder if I will ever sleep again! So nice to have them both home and DS1 has become a much happier baby since his brother came home.

Hey Nat, yeah I'm on that as well but fs has said not to take everyday (since my last appt with her last yr) ? So only take 3x per week-should I take every day again? I cut mine in half as well if I have daily (keep full if 3 x per week) can't remember the dosage, just know it has the green lid

Quartz, so I've heard, my girlfriend has twins, one of each, and she still isn't coping, mind you she is very much the princess type and my other GF and I like to giggle as she doesn't get a lot of "me" time anymore, hope it gets better soon and glad to hear ds1 is happy his bro is now home with him!!!

Nat I had a blood test, not the biopsy. Dr S said it was as good as the biopsy! Hmmm. I'll try not to worry
about it because I don't know anywhere in Perth that tests for NK cells.

Crofty, yeah I hear you, I turn 38 in April and I'm not looking forward to
it for TTC reasons. 98 and 99!! Wow thats good innings! Well I hope the westerly sea breeze works it's charm for our health :-)

Crofty - Yeah I take the one with the green lid too but I take it every day. I wonder why they've cut your dose down.

Paddlegirl - when you find a fs there, ask them about the biopsy. There definitely is a difference between the two tests. I know of a few ladies on here that had negative bts but a positive biopsy
