    Default Flying overseas while pregnant

    Hi everyone!

I'm currently only early in the pregnancy, but my husband and I wanted to go on a trip overseas before bub is born. Does anyone know when it would be best to travel? Would 20 weeks be ok?

Thanks for any advice you have

Depends where you're planning on going?
Short haul would be fine but long haul might be very tiring and uncomfortable.
Also doing it around 20 weeks would be a perfect time as that's when many feel best during pregnancy!

A lot of insurers won't cover you past 26 or so weeks, so that's something to look into as well.

You might want to find out what happens if god forbid you go preterm and have bub overseas. Some travel insurance won't cover pregnancy as its a preexisting condition.

    Good ideas!
I will look into travel insurance and double check everything pregnancy related.
DH isnt sure where he wants to go yet, but just wanted to check if it's a good idea

Flying while pregnant is fine for most women, I've done it a few times.

Do what the others said - get travel insurance, and be back home by about 28 weeks - I think thats the limit for insurance.

Fiji is a beautiful place to relax, and only 3 hours away (from Bris). Ditto NZ.

Drink lots of fresh water, and walk around the plane and get your legs moving. Have fun!!
