Default Have to share my little homemade costume project...

So, DD has a fancy dress ball at school next week. Costumes are SO expensive, and every single little girl is likely to go as some sort of princess or fairy... so I decided to MAKE Chanel's costume, of a character that hopefully some of her little friends know... and I'm quite proud of my efforts!

This is who is she going as: http://www.cartoonito.co.uk/sites/ww...erry-torte.jpg

    (Raspberry Torte from Strawberry Shortcake)

    And here is the costume!

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...berryTorte.jpg

I ended up getting the dress from Best and Less, making the belt out of ribbon and hot-glue-gunning some beads on it.
Grabbing a cheap lime headband and hot-glue-gunning beads on that.
The Bolero is an oldie she has had for a while.
White leggings that I strapped with electrical tape then painted for hte striped effect (they're not as clean as I hoped... but meh!)
Dyed a white long-sleeved top in lime green
Painted some old shoes hot pink and hot-glue-gunned some beads onto them...
and purchased a cheap pink wig!

She hasn't seen it yet... so I hope when she comes home she's excited and pleased.

And, I hope she feels awesome at the ball... and a bit special for not being a fairy or princess! (I had to try and convince her that it's COOL to be different... and kinda boring to be the same... so she may be annoyed... I hope not!).

Wow, that looks fantastic! Looks recognizable as a Strawberry Shortcake character too. Would love to see it on.

    Well done!!!
