    Default Help through sore throat

How do you help you child through a sore throat?

DS is only 9 months and has a cold he's been quiet and just wanting cuddles for a couple of days tonight he's coughing and his throat is really raspy. We have a vaporiser on. He's refusing to wake any fluids we even tried to give him a wet face washer to chew but he wouldn't have it. I don't know what else to do I feel so helpless. What do you do to Help your child through a sore throat?

Have you taken him to you dr, probably best thing to do as there just isn't that much you can do for them when they are that little!
Try giving him heaps of water or tea. Have you tried some Vicks baby? Some panadol/neurofen. Or painstop?

He doesn't like panadol he spits it out. Will take a little neurofen but that's a struggle to get in. I've never heard of painstop. We use a vaporizer and I've put euky bearrub on his chest and back.

He's refusing water But at least taking his bottle in short spurts.

His throat sounds so scratchy and sore, when he coughs he cried. The poor thing I feel so bad for him.

I know not much you can do! Pain stop is a paracetamol too, so you can't use it with panadol- there's a day version and a night version which can make them drowsy.
If it does not get better, in a day or two, I'd go back to dr, bc it's the throat he may need antibiotics.
    Hope he is better soon!
