    Default How did you celebrate?

My 30th is in November and since I have never really celebrated a birthday before aside from dinner with my parents etc hubby wants to do something nice. I am after ideas and am asking how you celebrated your 18th/21st or 30th??
Like lunch or dinner at a restaurant, BBQ at home....?
    Thanks!

For my 21st I had a decent sized party at my parents house with lots of awesome food and great cocktails.

For my 30th I had a combined party with a good friend who was also turning 30. We hired out the rooftop of a pub at The Rocks and had a vintage glamour themed celebration.

Both were awesome and very memorable nights

For my 21st I had a dress up party, dress as a movie character. It was great fun! I hired out the upstairs level of a local pub, which was free but I had to spend at least $300 on food, so had nibblies/canapé food. It was a great night and very easy to organize since I didn't need to clean up or do table arrangements. I went as a pirate lol.

For my 21st, I had a party for family and friends (and family friends!), about 85 guests showed up. It was just out the back of my parents' place and was nothing fancy at all, but we had slushy cocktail machines which was awesome.

For my 30th, DH took me to a hotel room, I went to the ballet by myself, and then when I got back to the hotel room he proposed. The next day I'd already booked us lunch at a winery, just the two of us, so it turned out to be a double celebration. I didn't have a party or dinner or anything, but it was still a good weekend.

My 21st was a BBQ with extended family & close family friends, with my friends coming over later to drink & take me out on the town.

My 30th was intended to be a small BBQ with close friends and a few drinks, but turned into a small but enthusiastic p1$$ up. (There's no other way to describe it!)

For my 21st I had a massive dress up party; the theme was 'Something beginning with the first letter of my name' (which is D). Was lots of fun seeing what everyone came as. We ordered a few platters of nibblies and had a bar tab for wine and beer. Great night.

I haven't had a 30th yet, but I intend on going overseas for it with hubby and our boys.

My 18th was spent at Hogs Breath, getting plastered with Ex BF's brother (Ex didnt drink) and having to be carried down the massive flight of stairs

21st, I just got engaged so a lot of people treated my party as an engagement party Meh.

My 30th is this month, DH has something planned and asked me for a guest list and told to wear attire OTHER than jeans, doc martens or converses I cant wait to see all the work hes done! It's a child free event too

18th was a small surprise party at home with close friends.
21st was a big party with 100 or so people. I hired a hall & a DJ and put on finger food, beer & wine.
30th was a party in a bar (I hired a room). Used the iPod for music & threw a couple of grand on the bar for beer, wine & spirits. Had about 60 people & had an absolute ball. It was my last hurrah before becoming a grown up (though I secretly plan on doing the same for my 40th.....)
