Default Catholic schools - petrie area

    Hi

We can't decide between Our Lady of the Way Petrie or Holy Spirit Bray Park. My daughter is starting prep next year and both of these schools are reasonably close to our house. Daughter is fairly advanced - already reading and doing maths problems. I am worried that she will get bored....

Does anyone have any experience with either of these schools?

    Thanks heaps!

If your daughter starts prep next year and you want her to attend a Catholic school, I'd be getting her name down at any of the schools as most will have already completed their orientations and have met their quota of kids for next year.

Have heard good things about OLOTW

Is there a reason you are only considering Catholic? Our DD is in prep at Kurwongbah (which is really in Petrie lol) and they have been EXCELLENT with her! She was reading and writing prior to starting school, and I too was worried about boredom (did look at early entry, but too many hoops and no guarantees that any school would take her anyway). Kurwongbah classes are combined with 2 teachers (prep/1, 2/3 etc) which means that kids are constantly shuffled to work with and extend their capabilities (so C has been working mostly with the 1's in the literacy areas and loves it!). The also have a great GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) program. Obviously there are more reasons than that with choosing a school, but just throwing another thought at you
