Default Need house warming gift ideas!

One of my friends and his partner have just bought their first house and it's also the first house they've ever lived in together so I want to get them a cool house warming gift....so not a toaster lol.

They had all the locks changed shortly after they got the keys and I was thinking of grabbing one of the old keys and getting it mounted and framed with a plaque engraved with something like 'one key can open a thousand doors'

Thoughts? Alternative ideas? What have you gotten as a house warming gift that was cool or totally useless?

What about a hamper with cleaning products, bathroom soaps, a nice candle, pegs, chocolates..... although i did one of these for an engagement present and never heard from the couple again lol

Yep typical! I did something similar for a baby shower gift but never heard from the woman again and not even a thanks at the time, I think there was about $150-200 worth of stuff in it too

That's an awesome idea if you can get the old key without letting on. I actually love it.. So thoughtful!
