I really would stop solids, there really is no rush, breast milk will give her all the nutrients she needs, give her little tummy a rest and try again after 6 months

I Gave bub a suppository and she didn't scream or anything. I used a recipe we used in aged care equal parts all bran and prune juice heat in a saucepan until the bran mushes down add pureed pear until its a thick paste if its to runny add more bran. I give her 1Tbs morning and night until she is regular again

I just give my dd prune juice with her lunch and dinner... She wasn't keen to begin with, but now is fine with it... She is 10mo and I put about 30mls in a bottle - she doesn't usually drink it all.

I would imagine it feels uncomfortable for them at first insertion, but it gets them pooping within 5 mins. Which would you prefer? Sometimes it's just getting that first hard bit out that's the problem. Once that's out the rest will fly out coz it's softened from the prunes etc.
Speaking from experience, I wish I tried the suppositories much sooner.
Definitely hold off solids until 6 months. BM has all that she needs.

My dd is now 7 months and has been on solids since 5 & 1/2 months. (she is breastfed). She now eats pumpkin or potato and rice or oat cereal. I will usually mix pear into her cereal since it helps to keep her from getting clogged. I noticed once starting solids she went from doing a bm every day to every couple of days. The child health nurses & my gp said its fine & not classed as constipation unless she goes 10 days without doing one or if they come out as hard as rocks. But if you are concerned then i agree with others that maybe just stick to bm a few days & see if that relieves it.
